S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Megan Edenfeld for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have never felt forced to serve in the church. I’ve served in the church for over four years; I have grown in my serving abilities and look forward to serving each week.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am someone who hides my feelings from those around me, and I understand how destructive that can be. I have discovered through personal experience that even the smallest dose of encouragement will completely change my outlook on something. Even if I might not know exactly what a person is going through, I feel inclined to encourage them because I know how much it has helped me.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I can worry and feel bad about almost anything. While I understand that some people are just not good people, I also understand that mistakes are human. I show mercy because I want to be shown mercy; I am human too.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to go on adventures. Whether it is driving to an unknown destination or hiking to the top of the world, I find the most happiness in exploring the world around me.

2. I love to volunteer. In the days of my life when I felt most lost, volunteering gave me purpose. I love forming relationships with those who genuinely want to know me.

3. I love to sit in solitude. I can easily spend an entire day alone; I clean, listen to music, exercise, and do basically anything I want. My sanity is found in being alone.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with children the most, specifically those in preschool. I have volunteered in the three to five-year-old Sunday school classroom at my church for the past four years, and I have never loved doing anything more. I love working with this age group because I feel it gives me the chance to revisit childhood and to forget the worries of life.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Church ministries that excite me the most are children’s ministries and international ministries. I absolutely love the idea of reaching out to the next generation and to those in need. The church ministry that concerns me the most is one of radicalism, as I feel that it is creating a poor reputation for the church.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was born and raised in a Christian household. I attended church and Christian school my entire life, as well as was nurtured by my family. As I grew older, I understood the Bible and gospel for myself, eventually deciding to get baptized and actually form a personal relationship with God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have been a Childcare Leader and intern as Lead Curriculum Coordinator at Beaverton Christian Church since freshman year.

I attended a mission trip organized by Compassion International with Beaverton Christian Church to Cochabamba, Bolivia. I visited the children sponsored by my family and served in the church plant. I did this my sophomore year.

I was a member of the Life Christian School Leadership Club during my eighth grade and freshman years. We basically organized and served in various community service opportunities.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Visiting my sponsored child, Aracely, in Bolivia. It was on this trip that I felt God for the first time and saw all that he had blessed me with.

Visiting Ireland with my family. I still cannot really explain it, as I don’t quite understand it myself, but this trip completely changed my life.

Staying at Faith Bible after my sophomore year. This was a choice I made without knowing why, as all I wanted was to leave, but I would not be the person I am today without it.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Changing schools my sophomore year.

Losing my childhood and teenage best friends.

Battling anxiety alone.
