S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Matthew Hoffman for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The service of others is my role. From servant leadership to just simple serving. I am an under-rower and service to God in his plan is my role.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Understanding my role in life is great, but only if it yields in my ability to assist others in finding theirs. Some people do not know how to address other people and seek to teach rather than understand. When we can understand each other and our plans we can work towards a plan to implement them. Encouragement is the tool that is essential to first listen and understand, then to motivate to action.

#3 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am blessed and I know it. Sometimes people are blind to the blessings that they have in life. I understand that relationships are the key to my happiness and giving of myself with my time, talent and treasure are ways to gain acceptance in relationships that drive my happiness.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Learning – I am a life-long student of life. Whether it be in my SIMPLE visionary roles (Social, $ Independent, Mental, Physical, Lord, Emotional) to just daily mundane tasks of completion. I can always learn from my environment. (Interesting thing came up as I typed this, my Timothy relationship model)

2. Growing – I need to grow and I need to do it not alone. Growth to me comes in shared experiences with others. To do life with other people is essential as relationships are key. My roles in life allow me to grow. (Follower/ Member of Gods family, Matt Hoffman, Husband/Lover/Father, Steward/Manager/Investor, Friend/Brother/Citizen, Paul/Barnabus/Timothy, Employee)
(Interesting thing came up as I typed this, my Barnabus relationship model)

3. Teaching – I am an influential person whether I desire to be or not. Therefore, I need to teach the life lessons I have learned to those that have not experienced them yet.
(Interesting thing came up as I typed this, my Paul relationship model)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Wow, well I guess this varies, but I am at most ease with those older than me or younger, I struggle with those in my age range. I also work with those that are open to open discussion. Those that are not open are a challenge for me.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
