S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Michele Larché for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
it’s my nature to help where help is needed. I don’t mind doing “little” things or “dirty work” or “behind the scenes” things. If it needs to be done, and I’m able to do it, I’ll do it.

#2 Gift, Teaching (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am able to teach others in a way that makes sense to them. I can adjust my words or my “teaching style” as needed to be more effective to my audience, explaining things in a way that is understandable to a variety of different people. Except teenagers. That group is tough to get through to….

#3 Gift, Giving (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel strongly that everything we have, from our abilities to our material possessions, comes from God. He gave us what we have so that we can use it for the good of His kingdom.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Music – singing, piano

2. Inductive Bible study

3. Have meaningful conversation with my kids

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Not real sure on this one. I get along best with folks who are “thinkers.” I guess I like people who like to learn and who acknowledge that they don’t already know everything. I like people who listen at least as much as they talk. Age doesn’t really matter.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The worship ministry is the one I’m involved with the most, so I guess that’s the one that excites me the most. My biggest concern would be whether or not the church membership is representing Jesus well. We should live and treat others in such a way that we are seen as different – and others should want what we’ve got. People should want to know more about Jesus because of the way we live.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in church, so I knew all about God, but never asked Jesus to be my Savior. When I was 14, I was on a choir trip and was eating dinner with my friends when I choked and nearly died. That night, I lay in bed, unable to sleep, thinking about what would have happened had I died – where I would be at that moment. I realized that being a “good girl” wasn’t enough, and I needed to ask Jesus to forgive my sins and be my Savior. So right then and there, I prayed that prayer!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

First Baptist McKinney, McKinney – Praise Team, VBS games leader; 1 year

Cottonwood Creek, Allen – Praise Team, choir, VBS games, preschool chapel music leader, kids’ Sunday School leader; 5-6 years?

Various other churches in the McKinney area, in Georgia, and in the Houston area – Praise Team, choir, VBS, kids’ Sunday School
