S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Myron Crockett for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have led people to a saving knowledge of Jesus both inside and outside the church. I think about reaching out to non-believers constantly, and I am able to encourage and equip believers to reach out to non-believers. Also, have led groups of people to effectively reach the lost. Also, I have a God-given burden for disciple-making.

#2 Gift, Prophecy (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The Lord has given me the ability to challenge and exhort groups of people with Biblical truth. Also, the Lord has given me the courage to speak up, even when I’m in a hostile environment. Also, I’ve had occasional prophetic dreams or nudges from the Lord that have been fulfilled.

#3 Gift, Teaching (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has given me a thirst for and a solid grasp of His Word, theology, and apologetics. Also, the Lord has granted me the ability to make Biblical, theological, and apologetics material understandable to others. People have relayed to me how my teaching has helped them to understand and to apply God’s truth.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I enjoy connecting with people. I like to listen to them and to help them to make sense of life.

2. I enjoy reading and interpreting what I read so that I can discern our cultural moment, how I (and others) can respond to the cultural moment, and how the Lord is moving currently.

3. I like coming up with strategies for reaching non-believers and discipling believers.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I have been most effective when working with people who are in their 20’s – 40’s. That said, I also enjoy working with people of any age who are proactive about seeing the local church grow Biblically into all that Jesus wants her to be.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am most concerned and excited about discipleship, evangelism, and apologetics.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up practicing witchcraft, but the Lord miraculously confronted me when I was 19. After this, I was converted to Christ through the preaching of the Gospel in a church I’d been attending. I turned my back on witchcraft and my whole self-ruled life, and I began living for Jesus while in college. I would come to be discipled in college by a campus minister.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Mulford Evangelical Free Church (Muscatine, IA) – Interim Pastor from June 2016 – March 2017

New Hope Community Church (Burlington, IA) – Lead Pastor from August 2012 – October 2015

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (New Orleans, LA) – Campus minister from 1998 – 2007

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Growing in multi-racial, multi-cultural contexts.

Spending a semester abroad in college traveling the US (for college credit).

Being intentionally discipled in college.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Growing up both as a child of divorce and without a dad.

Landing in the foster care system for a brief time in my teens.

My wife and I lost everything we owned in Hurricane Katrina.

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Be more effective in evangelism and discipleship in my personal ministry.

4. Help my church to be more effective in evangelism and disciple-making.

5. Transform our community (neighborhoods, institutions, etc.) for Christ.
