S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Nell German for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy planning and executing events. I feel this gift was developed in me out of necessity when I was an elementary teacher, as it was important to me to be prepared and well organized in that role.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I desired to teach elementary age children from the time I was 15. I took a fast track through college so I could be finished and start teaching right away. I haven’t had the opportunity to teach on a regular basis in 20 years, but I still enjoy the teaching/learning process.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I don’t feel gifted in this area, but it is an area I’d like to see God develop more confidence in me.
[H]eart
1. I love hearing people share how God has worked and continues to work in their lives – testimonies of how people came to faith in Jesus and fresh/current stories of how He’s working in their lives. This inspires me.
2. Walking, especially outside and with someone else. God is starting to prompt me to pray during the times I walk alone and these times are rich as well. I enjoy the air outside and like to relax in a hammock, on a swing or in a kayak.
3. I love being with family and friends who are like family to me. When possible, it’s great to be together at Flathead Lake or church.
I enjoy working with most people and a variety of ages. I find it difficult to work with mean, belligerent or uncooperative people. (example: we served dinner at a Missoula homeless shelter one Christmas and it just wasn’t for me. I had a difficult time relating to the people who were loud and obnoxious – they made me a little scared)

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
When I was 24 I had heard the gospel multiple times. I was at a place where I believed the claims of the gospel were truth, but I had not placed my faith in Jesus as my personal Savior. I went to a monthly dinner organized by Stonecroft Ministries and the speaker that night was speaking right where I was living. She said, “The papers are on the coffee table, but you have to sign them.” I sensed she was speaking directly to me. I went home and under the direction of the Holy Spirit, my life basically flashed before my eyes. I received Jesus personally that night and told my sister about the decision I’d made.
Missoula Alliance Church – served as children’s director, outreach director and administrator (at different times) from 2001 – 2018.
Bible Study Fellowship, in Port Angeles and Missoula – served as children’s supervisor and children’s leader (teacher) from 1999 – 2001.
Independent Bible Church, Port Angeles, WA – occasional children’s ministry volunteer and children’s choir director from 1995 – 1998.
Marrying my husband
Being inspired by Pastor Jeff Valentine’s powerful vision to reach “the 9 out of 10” in the Missoula area – basically to fulfill the Great Commission by loving our community and giving people an opportunity to hear the gospel.
Doing a Bible study “Lord, I’m Torn Between Two Masters” and subsequently being part of Bible Study Fellowship
The sudden loss of my Dad when I was 18, this was followed by other high stress situations within 6-7 months.
Infertility and miscarriage the only time I was pregnant
Having a rebellious teenage daughter (Christine is technically my step daughter, but we were blessed to raise her full time)
