Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Medic with an Infantry Company. Desert warfare training at Ft. Irwin, Ca. Probably mid 1979. I was walking, checking out the area surrounding where we were camped and came across another medic vehicle from another unit. As I approached I could hear someone singing Christian songs and also playing a recorder, both poorly. I walked up to the back door and asked a very dumb question, “Hey man, is everything ok?” He assured me everything was and began witnessing to me from the book of Revelation and all the bad stuff coming. Not how it is normally done but right for me. I got scared and was shaking as he talked. Finally he asked if I wanted to get saved and I said yes. we prayed, him then me. I was sitting in the doorway in bright sunshine and he was inside, all hatches closed. I didn’t see him till after the prayer. He was a brand new private. Had lived a rough life, got saved, went to the Teen Challenge Institute in Sunbury, Pa. then joined the Army. Today he is a retired military and retired college professor living in a town in China where he goes on occasional anti government rants in the street because he has PTSD. We keep in touch.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Celebrate Recovery X7 years. On the TEAM for most of those years as E or A. Lead various small groups. Broken Chains.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Next to coming to Christ Himself, it was the circumstances surrounding my conversion. I may or may not have already been a Christian. I was in church from age 13 onward and I had “prayed the prayer” much earlier in life but was not walking the walk after I joined the military even though I knew how and why.

Finding CR and beginning to work on my Hurts, Habits and Hang-ups that I had from my childhood onward.

Watching a Pastor and his family who do not insulate themselves from the world nor their congregation. Watching them live Christ through the heartache, tears and pain.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

A father who played favorites with his kids. The number one negative experience that led directly to the life I live now.

Four awful marriages and divorces and no reasonable answers why. Back to the first negative.

  • Everyone Else After those

3. I don’t know. I still haven’t gotten past #2. I have spent over 40 years trying and I ave quit dreaming. Now, I am just waiting for lightning to strike.
