I became Christian at a revival in our home church in 2nd Grade. I have always felt close to God and rely on Him daily for wisdom and guidance.

My Mom was 50 when I was born, so I was the youngest of 6 children but my siblings were much older than me and my nephews/ nieces were my age. The age of my parents drove me to want to be perfect and successful so they could see that success as I was afraid they would die before I grew up. It led me to my career in working with seniors and advocating for them.

My dad having Alzheimer’s disease when I was in high school- led me to want to find a cure and be a resource for others going through similar situations.

Working at Winning Wheels- a nursing home for young people in w/c’s (primarily due to spinal cord and brain injury). Working at the House of Mercy Medical Clinic- both of these positions allowed me to feel that I was truly giving back to others.

Losing our daughter to Pulmonary Vein Stenosis after 8 weeks in the PICU at Mercy Hospital.

Having an older sister that was an alcoholic and died at the age of 43 due to her addiction and seeing the impact it had on her family/ kids.

Having a very challenging/ difficult boss at work. John also had a very negative experience with a boss in higher education. We know how you can do the right things at work and still be criticized and wronged.
