S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Tammy Cain for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think that I have always had a heart for those who need encouragement. I think that this is how God wired me.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Again I think that I have just been hard-wired to show mercy. That is in my DNA. Yet modeled and taught from my father’s love of animals to my mom’s gentle caring ways.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My mother was a great role model for serving others and to treat those around you with a serving heart. I think also I try to fix things which can not work out too well at times. But I do try to fix things and have a job that is my responsibility to respond to things that are not working.

1. Number one on the list would have to be my pets. They are just a joy in my life and a true gift from God.
2. My friends, family, Godchildren, the whole kitten kaboodle. I know that I would be lost without them.
3. Working with the children and adults with disabilities. They are my heart and I want to help the people I serve to have everything or the ability to access everything that will help give them joy.
Older kids and adults with disabilities.
Of course, disability ministries concerns me the most. I also am very concerned about how the church can be of service to the community at large rather than to itself.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
I am a cradle to grave Christian. Baptised in my home church surrounded by awesome people who taught me how to serve and love Christ.
My mom started going to the UMC in Follansbee and left due to some inner fighting. So she started attending a southern baptist church around the same time that she became ill with cancer. We spent the first of the months searching for a cure by visiting Katherine Kuhlman, the 700 club, and even Ernest Angley to find a cure. This was not to be and my faith was shaken, not by her illness and death but by some mean person telling me that the reason she was not healed was that she did not have enough faith in God that shook me to the core and I stopped attending church. But I still believed that Christ was there for me I just did not like church. So my senior year in High School my aunt talked me into returning to church and I joined in and even got to babysit the Pastor’s kids at times. I went off to college and after that pastor left, I received a letter advising me that they were going to take me off the roles because I was not tithing or attending. (I worked in Philadelphia 8 weeks in the summer and well as attended school) I was never home. This crushed me to the core! Again the church does me wrong.
My college roommate (now best friend) was searching for her faith as well and I just tagged along as we hitched our horses to the Catholic campus ministry with Sister Kit and Father Lavin. My dear friend became a Catholic and I just stayed unattached. I was part of the Catholic Campus Ministry my entire 4 years of college. After college, I would attend mass with my friends but did not think of returning to the Methodist church Then many years past and my best friend asked me to be her daughter’s Godmother. So I had to prove that I was baptized.
I went to Pleasant Valley and spoke with Pastor Debbie Kazor (Dague) and you can say the rest is history. I never stopped going and as each year has gone by I have been active in the ministry of the church. Become a lay servant and on many committee in the church and charge.
Sharing faith with my friends. My circle of friends all have strong relationships with Christ. One involved in music ministry, one starting a church and the other two very strong in their faith.
Rev. Patty Beagle mentoring me through my walk of faith and a member of the United Methodist Church
Being on SPRC in learning how to support the pastor and support the community of faith
Being told that my mom could not be healed because of her “lack of faith”!!!!!!
Asked to leave the church because I was not tithing or attending without people calling to see what was going on.
The fighting within the church when they were trying to combine us. People would not talk to me I was looked as a Judas to my church family. It was not fair to make us keep secrets from the people who love and supported me.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Doing well in my job and returning to working with behavioral issues with the individuals I serve.
4. Become involved with Disabilities Ministry to help all churches make church a place that everyone can access.
5. Watching and supporting my niece in her walk of faith. And being an example of Christ’s love to my nephew to he may someday accept Christ.
