Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Being able to be with my mother at this time in our lives.

2. I find great joy in being able to help others grow in their journey with Christ.

3. Being able to serve the Lord through the ministries of Grace Church.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Adults, who have a desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Discipleship excites me most. And the lack of worship attenders who are involved in the ministry of the church outside of weekend worship concerns me the most.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Raised in a Christian home. Accepted Jesus into my heart when I was 8 but have had many mountaintop as well as valley low experiences through the years. I have always known the Lord was there for me, but I was the one who strayed away from Him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Children, youth ministries, STEPHEN Ministry, Missions ministry, connection ministries, – Shoes of Hope, Guide Team, Connect and Form Team – all at Grace

Youth Director at Central UMChurch in NJ 1983-4

Director of Children and Youth ministries at 1st UMC in Bradenton, FL 1979-83

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Working under the leadship of Jorge Acevedo was a life changer and taught me a totally different way of doing ministry.

When I took Jorge’s challenge to participate in the University of the Holy Spirit. I have participated now for 16 years. I learned more bout the Bible through this experience than ever before.

Many leadership training opportunities through Grace, but the top 2 would be STEPHEN Ministry leadership training and the several opportunities at Willow Creek Church.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing or leaving different job employments.

Break up in a few relationships, have hurt deeply, but I realize now, they were all for my good and God’s glory.

The difficulty we experienced with my dad at the end of his life.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. E back in full time or part time employment in the church in my area of passion, discipline others.

4. Be volunteering more intentionally in my area of passion, helping match full devoted disciples with those wanted to grow spiritually.

5. Develop a program similar to CR’s 12-step program for our general population that would be more intentional in growing disciples.
