S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Natalee Venice Walters for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I like to help people…it gives me an intrinsic joy when I say something and someone understands it or I do something and it helps them in a significant way, no matter how trivial my actual action was

#2 Gift, Evangelism (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I like sharing, so if sharing biblical truth helps to have someone else understand or begin to walk on the journey to God’s truth, then that is right up there with my joy in helping them

#3 Gift, Giving (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think Teaching would be more my gift than Giving…..or maybe it’s the gift of Giving knowledge ….I give of my tithes because I feel led to….I help people monetarily also, if I can and I feel led to…God has blessed me from humble begins to have, so if I can, I help

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I reallllly like to read for fun…..I like to curl up in a quiet place under the covers with the fan on away from the world and read a good book……my imagination takes me to far off lands and the world created by the author and that excitement brings me joy.

2. I love spending time with family and friends…even if it isn’t actively doing anything together but simply enjoying each other’s company and talking about life

3. I love when doing something for someone actually brings peace/joy/ true help for them….In both my professions I often feel disheartened when I come across someone I can not help.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People who are lost, in need…..any age group really, once I connect with them I am okay speaking to them….No actual type, I have had to deal with people from all backgrounds and have managed to speak to them as individuals….Recently, I have had a recurring thought about trying to reach persons living with HIV/AIDS ….giving them opportunities for providing for themselves and their families a future through products offered by my company

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Developing children in the Lord…I feel I missed that growing up

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I heard the call when I was 10 years old at Church Camp and then went on to be baptised at my home church…..had some rebellion but always felt the desire, need, pull to hold on…despite at times hanging on by a thread…Started searching to strengthen the connection in 2019, found TLC and made the decision to walk full on the narrow path January 17, 2021

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Worship Experience – Leading, reading the scripture, welcome and notices
United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands – Greendale (up to 2002) and Hope United (2002 – 2015) Churches

Sunday School – mostly nursery and children’s ministry – Hope United Church

Various charitable missions through outreach groups over the years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being accepted and Completing medical school- taught me to go after dreams and passions *no matter what*

Transitioning into a new profession and subsequently qualifying for Convention 2020 – I can do ALL things through Him who strengthens me….those two periods in my life were nothing short of God and God alone….nothing is impossible for Him who can do abundantly

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My father’s methodology in parenting. Has molded my independent nature and time management skills but has also given me a soft heart in general

Being involved in a fatal and near fatal accident and subsequent spinoffs from that – I have a realization that my humanity is fallible and anything can happen

Being in relationships that have challenged me to know who I am and grow more dependence on self and grow in my faith in God
