Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in a church home but not a Christian home. God began working in my teenage years but wasn’t saved until I was 27 and married. My mother was an alcoholic and through AlAnon I was confronted with a Higher Power. After the birth of our first child, I felt lost and unable to know how to raise a child because I didn’t think I was raised. How could I take care of a baby when I was so confused about myself. I wrote to my aunt, who I knew was a Christian, and she shared the gospel with me. It took awhile before I really understood salvation but through her testimony, AlAnon, and finally listening to a Billy Graham Crusade I was able to accept Christ. It has been a long road for me.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I was a Sunday school teacher in the church I grew up in Milford, Connecticut: United Church of Christ Congregation. When we moved to Florida and after attending Alliance Church for awhile, with another women, we started Pioneer Girls in the church. I was involved several years with that until another came in took my place as director. It was very successful and continued for some years. I did the same in First Baptist DeLeon Springs but that program did not last as long. I stood in for the church’s secretary after her husband died for about 3 months. After coming to the Journey we were asked to be in charge of a new ministry for married couples. We started HomeBuilder’s groups and then we headed up the Marriage Ministry with quite a few other couples. I was in charge of the committee for The Art of Marriage seminar that we held in the church some years ago. Recently, the end of 2018, I helped Annie Helms by proofreading the new 40 Day Devotional.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

When we came to Florida in 1978 and soon after a new friend, a quadriplegic, asked me if she could disciple me using Bill Bright’s “Nine Transferable Concepts.”

The adoption of our two youngest. We adopted them 24 years ago. Although, a very difficult experience, it was a growing process for both my husband and I. It made me more outgoing and had the opportunity, with two other ladies, to start a Tough Love group in DeLand; with the blessing of Judge Hubert Grimes (he is now connected to Bethune Cookman).

My husband and I have been involved with A Weekend to Remember in helping in their Resource Center. However, the first time we attended the conference, it basically changed our marriage.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My mother’s alcoholism. Dealing with that situation (plus the alcoholism of my father-in-law, uncle, my husband’s aunt, and also our adopted son). Through Al-Anon I was able to come out of myself and even lead some group meetings.

I had two miscarriages between the birth of our oldest and youngest biological children. Because of that I could minister to at least one or more mothers.
