S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Paul Smart for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am a person who projects strength and comfort to others which in turn encourages them to get past fear into action. I then am supportive of them when they choose to act giving them encouragement and strength.

#2 Gift, Teaching (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I show people my brokenness. I am honest, transparent and hold a solid faith in Christ. I quickly bypass the hypocrisy challenge posed by those who don’t yet know Christ, but see the sinful nature Christians still live out in their lives.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been through a lot in my own life. I have empathy for those who are suffering. I like to listen to those who are hurting and going through difficult times.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to be a source of strength to those who are in a vulnerable and or weak moment(s) in their lives.

2. I love to help people who are overwhelmed by breaking things down and simplifying whatever may be overwhelming. To show people a way forward and through it all.

3. I love to be an example to others who can not see in the moment that they are not alone. To see that throughout difficult times one can find a positive way forward. Can find God working in their lives before, during and going forward.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with teenagers through to seniors.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

A Church issue concerning me today is seeing the opposite of what I love doing for others taking place prominently in the congregations and some church leadership. I have heard from many Christians leaving and not attending church anymore because there is too much judgement of someone’s sins, arrogant attitudes of superiority and a general state of religion forgetting that living out what Jesus Christ lived and taught is the way we should live always. The devil is working hard on this front and I am afraid to say he is experiencing much success on this issue.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian family. We lived in a rough area when I was young and was surrounded and in contact with gangs daily. We moved away from the rough area into a nice area in my young teens. I joined a youth group at our new church and went on a Teen Missions trip to Egypt. I became a Christian during this missions trip to Egypt.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I made lifelong friendships with Christians when in youth group during my teens. Such a positive.

I was married for quite a while.

My two boys.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I survived the gangs in my childhood and early teens. Barely.

I saw the great power God has when we had a spiritual warfare team come and pray in my room and get rid of Legion. God gave me the gift of discernment during this time and I saw God’s power exercised with my prayers a few different times. All doubts erased with other people either witnessing what I was facing in the moment or another telling me of the very demon I(we) prayed against.

Surviving a full heart transplant. Being given a second chance at life. I should now be able to watch my kids grow up and maybe have kids of their own.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To own and run a large ranch and teach survival and life skills to teenagers and young adults.

4. I would like to go on a mission trip or more where I can be a help of some kind to the people there.

5. To have a family life again.
