Would like to see an expanded first floor, where there can be a gymnasium for the youth & kitchen & larger area for church meals, etc. (So basement wouldn’t have to be used by people that have trouble doing stairs), all on the main floor. With doors closing in the church “sanctuary” area that could be opened to allow for more seating when necessary, or to close off any people visiting when the service starts. Also, I think that anybody involved in helping, in a certain ministry, should be involved & consulted with decisions about that ministry & be kept fully informed as to what’s going on with that ministry! In other words, the leaders & helpers should be considered as a “team” and should work together, when any decision or changes are being considered, to be made to the ministry.

[E]xperience

I was a very believing Catholic & “swallowed” all they taught & believed I’d get to Heaven because I didn’t do “Mortal Sins” & obeyed all the church laws, etc. Then my brother in law, Bob, who was a “down & out” hippie & druggie, suddenly changed totally and I had to know why. Little by little he & his sister, Mary, told me, to be saved is only through Jesus’s paying for our sins on the cross & my accepting that personally. Mary invited me to bible studies & they both showed me relevant bible verses, etc.! It took a year or so, before I made that commitment to Jesus & then around 4 yrs. before I knew enough of the bible to see how unbiblical the Catholic Church was, & switch to a “bible believing” church!

Have lead numerous Bible Studies for many years, in different cities we’ve lived in & various books of the bible, etc.

Worked in our Church’s Library many years, until was taken over by another person & didn’t seem they needed my help any more.

At HCBC used to help count & sometimes deposit, the church Sunday offerings.

Studying the Bible, especially in groups where can participate & discuss the verses being studied.

“Sticking it out” through a difficult marriage situation, for many years, because I knew that God says he “Hates Divorce”!

Going through difficulties & trials in life, especially our daughter’s death 11/2/2020. Seeing how God sustained us & is working out her husband raising the 3 kids & working full time, by himself. Also seeing the support our church gave us through this crisis & the great support Bay City Baptist church gave my daughter while she was sick with Cancer & her husband & family, after she died!

Living for many years with an alcoholic and that God saw me through it & “cured” him of the problem.

Having an experience with my sister where she & my mom changed mom’s will before mom died, from joint executorship, without my knowledge or consent to just my sister being executor. I felt I had been “stabbed in the back” by her, added to by many negative experiences after mom died, with the decisions, etc. about her estate. Finding after having so much anger towards her, that God did help me forgive her, even though we don’t have a relationship left with each other, as she’s unwilling to admit or apologize (or even have a discussion between us) about what she did to me. But God took away the bitterness I had towards her.

When I was 12 yrs. old my dad died of his 2nd heart attack. The nuns at the Catholic School I went to, often talked about that we “must accept God’s will in our lives.” That, actually helped me a lot with his death, as it must have been God’s will! It’s still a big struggle to always accept God’s will, but that was a start in learning to do so!
