#1 Gift, Evangelism (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Thru my years in CBS bible study, I have mentored and helped many young woman in their walk with the Lord. As a senior member of CBS, I continue to provide leadership and evangelism to new and current members. I also have a heart for mission work and would actively participate in any trips not in the middle of the summer. I have found and will continue to find mission trips outside COTR as prefer medical work efforts.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
See above with CBS. I also love to work with hospitalized or ill friends & family. I have taken several people with serious illnesses to Mayo and have opened my heart to providing care to those the Lord puts in my path.

#3 Gift, Giving (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Now that I have retired, I have found great joy in serving others. The Lord had helped place me where I can do the most good and thru my work with the Hospice Thrift store, I’ve been able to encourage my co workers plus clients that have very little resources, but come to our store. I also continue to financially support 2 missionaries plus 3-4 international children.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Medical support & mission work as a RN

2. Exercise- I’ve prioritized my own health after finally being able to focus the time needed. Its the only way I will be able to do the other things that the Lord desires of me!

3. Spending time with family. This has gotten harder with Kathryn’s move to Atlanta, but I take every opportunity to help our 3 children and Michigan relatives.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

adults; young and old

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Why aren’t we growing? Is he Lord trying to tell us something? Look forward to welcoming and growing with new faces so we can focus on serving our community together!

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised as a Christian and attended schools thru Georgetown where I was educated by Jesuits. Cursillo changed my realization that being a Christian was far different from living as a Christian. Now I follow where the Lord leads and do His will in the world where I am placed.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Medical mission team member- Dominican republic, Panama, Rwanda

Church vestry- St Joseph’s Episcopal x 5 years & COTR x 3 years

St Patrick’s school board member, Gainesville x 5 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Growing up in Saudi Arabia

Cursillo

Going back to nursing school and getting my MSN after my eldest 2 children were born

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing friends in MEA terrorist attack

Losing my mother to Cancer and father to heart disease

Open adoption of our youngest son

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To live near my children and grandkids and teach them how to all impact the world with the fruits of the spirit

4. To regularly serve the Lord on large mission teams with many clinical specialties;

5. To provide hospital health support for patients and families needing love and witness in their most difficult times
