S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Patrick Joyce for taking the SHAPE Assessment. Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
Life long Catholic, born and raised here in Madison. Graduated from St. Dennis School, did public schools for high school and college. Confirmed at St. Dennis. Started Lectoring while in college and have continued the rest of my life. Started to get involved in the St. Dennis community when Fr. Mike Resop invited me to be part of Parish Council. When Deacon Dave started his ministry at St. Dennis I jumped at helping him out, loved his style reaching out to the high school students and his Rocky Mountain experiences. At some point for 7-10 years I help with the “Word and Communion services here at St. Dennis. Helped with Festival. Fundraising for new church and remodel. I love St. Dennis.
St. Dennis: Religious Education (MS and HS), Lecturing since 1983, word and communion services, Adult serving.
Deacon Dave calls it a “Mountain Top” experience. From masses on the mountain, recreation at the camp, having the high school retreat and good adult bonding.
Another experience with Deacon Dave is spending a week in Belize and helping and ministering in this third world country.
Serving at Church. Back while attending school at St. Dennis I served from 4th grade through high school, then about five years ago, I was asked if I wanted to Adult serve. What a great experience being at the Lord’s table.
Parents getting divorced after celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Learned how the relationship between husband and wife needs a positive relationship and open communication and honesty to survive (just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary several weeks ago).
