[E]xperience

I grew up in a family of Christians and never really considered the opposite.

All of my ministry experience has been at St. John’s. I have been truly blessed to be here. I am just happy to serve.

I am not the person I was before coming to St. John’s. My life has totally changed, and, of course, for the better. My path was unclear, I had not given up on Christ, but I did not have him in my life like I do now. The change is that I do little without thinking of Christ and how he is with me in ALL I do. I pray more often and give thanks for all the blessings He provides for me and others.

In particular, I am thankful for having Father Houk in my life. He has been both a friend and a mentor. He has led and guided me in becoming the Episcopalian I am today. I think that is a good thing.

I consider the family of St. John’s a big impact in my life. This is the most loving Christian family that one could have. The family cares about each and everyone. It is almost like you can’t get away with anything. What a blessing to have a caring, gentle and loving family.

Before coming to St. John’s I dealt mostly with younger people who did not attend church, therefore, I attended very little. I came to St. John’s and I have never had so many older folks around me. The negative is that I did not have older folks in my life to share God and to talk about the Bible. I consider it a blessing to be surrounded by folks with whom I can share the love of Christ.
