S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Renee Dean for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a real passion for reaching those that are lost and do not know Christ. I want to reach those that have never heard of him or have dismissed him to other beliefs. I feel like early in my life I strayed from Christ and fell into the world. I instead was influenced by the world instead of influencing the world to live a different way.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I definitely feel like this is one of my gifts. The gift to encourage believers that have fallen away from the faith or those that are lukewarm. Encouraging those to fully submit to Christ in their lives and live out their faith.

#3 Gift, Teaching (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I also have a strong passion for this. I have really been getting into apologetics and defending of the faith. Not that God needs defending but in order to explain my beliefs especially to unbelievers. And teaching other believers how to really dig into their beliefs in order to communicate to others why they believe. Teaching those to become more spiritually mature and not stay drinking milk. Teaching believers how to watch for watering down of the gospel and the true message of Christ.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Digging in further into my faith and into God’s word. To fully understand God and the beliefs that I carry.

2. Reaching those that are lost or confused about God and the Christian faith

3. Being outside in nature. Appreciating God’s creation and experiencing his closeness in all things.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I feel like I work well with all groups and ages. Currently feel like God is leading me to work with college age or young adults. Those that may not fit into youth ministry anymore or feel fully comfortable in older adult setting. Those trying to find their place in the kingdom and the church.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Reaching the lost, teaching young believers and lukewarm believers how to grow in their faith.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I knew of Christ most of my life. I was involved in youth group and even felt like I had been “saved” However I never fully understood what accepting Jesus into my heart, mind and soul really meant. Once coming out of youth and going into college. I quickly fell away from the faith. I did not know how to defend it or the questions that it brought from others. So instead I adopted very weak theology and tried to accept all for what they believed. “your truth isn’t my truth but it doesn’t make your truth wrong or my truth right” After some life changing ordeals and living life for myself, I saw how broken I really remained. And I started really learning what it meant to surrender my life to Jesus. I have learned more and more how to defend the faith and make it understandable to people of the world.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Youth River City New Braunfels (about 3 years – off and on)

SOS Food Bank New Braunfels (about 3 years)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My family life and their faith

Travelling and meeting new people and experiencing new cultures

My education

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Close deaths of both my parents and of friends. Caregiving for my mom in her cancer battle.

The “love of my life” the one I found for myself while living for myself and him walking out of my life with no notice/explanation. Along with him, he took his son that I had raised as my own for the early part of his life, and him not allowing us to say bye to each other. His selfishness damaged us all. But it was his leaving that made me realize I could not live of the world and not know Jesus any longer. I realized how many times I had wasted moments to show those I really cared for that were of the world a different way.

My lost friends. I have many friends with no belief or with some sort of false belief. I so often shyed away from speaking truth in love and ultimately missed chances to really share the real Jesus with them.
