S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Rebecca Williamson for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy serving in the background and if someone needs help, I love coming to their aid and helping out. If there’s a need to assemble kits or something, I really enjoy doing that.

#2 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have no idea. I’m shocked this is on my list. I mean I enjoyed being a lab TA in college, but I’ve always considered myself a follower and not a leader.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I just like being there for people. Like if you need something from the store, I’ll happily go out of my way to pick stuff up for you. I’m willing to just sit and listen if you need someone to just vent to.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Baking!!! Just providing food for people in general.

2. Spending time with people one-on-one and getting to know them.

3. Having deep theological conversations with folks. I hate when topics never get out of the superficial basic stuff. I want to dive in and be challenged.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Not young kids. I can connect with those who have children my age or older and have grandchildren because that’s who I was raise around. I love getting to know senior adults. The senior adult luncheons was one of my favorite things at my previous church in college.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Young adult ministry and specifically young single folks. We’re severely overlooked in the church as a whole. There’s the college age folks and then the young married couples. There’s not much notice taken to the single twenty-somethings.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in church. I went on a mission trip when I was 16 and got saved on the mission trip. Since then, ups and downs in life have affected my relationship with God and I’ve gone between almost abandoning my faith and pursuing Him above all else.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Liberty Baptist Church, Murphy NC, Church Pianist, 4 years

TN Tech BCM, Cookeville TN, Leadership Team (Common ground and missions), 2 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

21 Days of Devotion at LH

Mission Trip to Southeast Asia

Pretty recent, but the hangouts with Jenna, Ryan, Carston, and Caleb. They challenge me and accept me for who I am. It’s a relief to know that I’m ok the way I am and that I don’t have to change to be acceptable.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Major Depressive Episode, January/February 2016

Family Events of July 2013

Not sure it gives me great compassion, but my relationship dealings in September 2016

  • Everyone Else After those
