#1 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy speaking. I have spoke and led events in the past and am not too afraid of being in front of people. I enjoy creating concise, clear and spirit led messages – and find importance in taking adequate time to do so. I like communicating as well and finding the best forms and ways to best communicate with my audience. I appreciate clear, encouraging, and direct communication that reaches those who need to be heard.

#2 Gift, Administration (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Organizing, big picture planning and strategizing are important to me. I am not always the best at carrying out the plans amidst the thorough details to the end. I do feel gifted in the ability to move this involved in a common direction. I enjoy helping weed through the differing perspectives of a group to find a common direction and goal.

#3 Gift, Prophecy (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is a skill I have noticed before and been told about but am not sure how it plays out or how best to foster it.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was born and raised in a Union – Presbyterian/Methodist Church – Being involved and serving was always something encouraged in my family and I found excitement in. In youth group I often took the lead in envisioning and planning opportunities for our group – looking for new & challenging opportunities. I was involved in FCA in HS and until then I knew how to “practice” being a Christian but wasn’t sure how to communicate and relate to the Lord. I then became involved in camping ministry at the end of HS and fell in love – I felt like I had finally found something that matched my enthusiasm, joy, energy, love for the Lord and sharing His love, and sense of adventure and fun. I worked in this and prepared in this for about 5 years until God changed my path and I feel like this was one of my first tests of obedience and surrender. I was then led to youth ministry and then eventually off to grad school to become a counselor. I feel my faith journey has definitely been a continual process of sanctification and discovery, and a continual process of owning my faith and my relationship with God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

NLCC – last 2 and a half years – Filling Station, women’s ministry events here and there, strategizing in relation to “community” engagement, praise band (for about a year)

Lake City Union Church – Iowa – Youth & Family Ministry Pastor (4 years), church choir (growing up), church leadership, various committees (leadership & membership, supporting ministries such as food bank/food pantry, community outreach & connection, special event planning, various mission trips

Camping Ministry – 4 years/Presbyterian Camp on Okoboji – 1 year/Lakeside Presbyterian Camp, Lakeside, MT

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

my various experiences in camping ministry – program opportunities, relationship building, experience creating, planning & programming, energizing & fun, leadership challenges, team work

living abroad – adventure, learning and figuring out new cultures, embracing opportunities, trying new things

joining in relationship with others

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

youth ministry challenges, from when I was a youth pastor

failed relationships

wrestling with my own periods of depression
