#1 Gift, Teaching (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Not only do I have a burden to teach God’s Word, but I have been given many opportunities to do so over the years. As I teach, I often get positive feedback, and I love to see Christians grow as they learn.

#2 Gift, Administration (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to see things run effectively and efficiently. It is a great joy to see Christians serving in the right place, and for churches to operated smoothly.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
The longing for disciples to make disciples drives me to lead and feed the flock to which God has called me. Seeing people come to know Christ, grow up and be equipped, and then go out to reach others is satisfying. This isn’t easy work, but it is worthwhile.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I came to Christ at the age of 8, when I realized I was a sinner and Christ was my only hope for salvation. After months of contemplating this decision, I prayed to receive Jesus in my cousin’s treehouse after we discussed what I knew needed to be done.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Associate Pastor/ Student Minister – FBC Carbon Hill 1999-2002

Pastor, Associational Director of Missions, Church Planter – Various Churches 2003-2015

Lead Pastor – Grace Baptist Church (revitalization) 2015-Present

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

God has blessed me tremendously with a loving and supportive wife and three wonderful sons. Marriage and fatherhood have taught me a great deal about the love Jesus has for His Church and the love God has for His children.

Through a failed church plant, God taught me much about leader development, fund raising, and the need for encouragement/accountability.

By God’s grace, He answered my long-time prayer for networking and fellowship with like-minded disciple making pastors over the past 3 years.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

At the age of 14, my parents divorced. This forced me to question lots of things and ultimately drove me to depend on God by faith more than ever.

God has blessed me over the years with opportunities to grow and trust Him through church conflict. These opportunities caused me to study Scripture and proper procedures on church discipline, reconciliation, and stewardship.

Through many failed attempts to be mentored by an established church leader, God gave me a burden to encourage discouraged ministers, disciple Christians, develop leaders, and be sensitive to pastors without friends in ministry.
