Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Having met Jesus through my mother and home church, I left the Christian thing during my high school years. During college, Jesus confronted me through a group of college students who took following Him seriously. I submitted to Jesus the spring of my freshman year and have been following Him ever since.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Reach Out on Campus (ROC) as the director of that campus ministry at Ohio University for 22 years.

As a volunteer hospital chaplain in Athens OH, while I was with ROC, for 3-4 years.

Volunteer with IVCF during graduate school for 1 year. Served as high school youth group leader at West Walnut Street Church of Christ during graduate school

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The Christian Student Fellowship community at the University of MN through which Jesus confronted me. The fellowship of that community was key to shaping me personally and encouraging me to consider ministry full time.

The Bible study in my dorm room conducted by the preacher of University Church of Christ was key to me wanting to study scripture more.

Speaking at a camp…I don’t even remember the age of the campers but I sensed the Holy Spirit using me.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

The death of my parents (different times).

Back surgery (twice on the same disc) and the excruciating pain prior to those surgeries.

The 4-hour confrontation with a student and the chair of my board at the end of my first year in campus ministry.

  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Be a key part of a disciple making movement

4. Bless spiritual grandchildren with Scriptural insight and encouragement.

5. See our church plant 3 churches in the next 10 years.
