S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Ron Fontenot for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Mercy Showing (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This score is surprising to me. I try to be “just myself” no matter whom I’m with. So to answer the question “I feel I have these gifts because” I would say I try to treat all people the same no matter their background or life experiences. I think I’m a good listener, compassionate, and empathetic.

#2 Gift, Administration (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one is interesting as well. I don’t like church administration or administrative church meetings. So to answer the question “I feel I have these gifts because” I would say I like to plan events that Christ is the focus such as a prayer group or organize a group of men to attend Iron Sharpens Iron.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe strongly in live a Christian life and people will notice. I believe respect and compassion for people is a strong evangelism tool.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I enjoy volunteering at the hospital. I meet people from all backgrounds and life experiences. At the hospital everyone is important and a lot of people are looking for Christ. I enjoy being the one that tells them Christ loves them no matter what. A lot of times it just requires being a good listener.

2. Advocating for the homeless and less fortunate.

3. I enjoy traveling.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I work with most with men. I enjoy talking with older men and listening to their life stories.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The current location of O’Fallon FUMC is perfectly located to minister to the busiest and poorest sections of the community. I believe we should strive to make our building and congregation a beacon of light to the community welcoming all people. I also think it would be wonderful to serve Christ from the old Memorial Hospital building down the road across from Schnucks. Visualize a warming/cooling center, a thrift store, and a Christian centered coffee shop in one of those building. Much of the Chevy Chase community is open to a ministry we have yet to explore.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
