S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Roonie Craig for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was raised in a Christian home and my family went to church. I understood “the basics” and accepted Jesus as my Savior in elementary school. I grew in my faith until college, didn’t abandon my faith in that period of my life but also did not go to church regularly, then began going to church again after college / when I got married and began growing in my faith again. At the age of 34, I began Bible Study Fellowship and have learned a lot through Bible study about applying Scripture to my life. That same year, my husband had the first of 3 major health surgeries / issues and I re-dedicated my life to Jesus as a result of some details surrounding that first experience, not only as my Savior but truly as the Lord of my life, with the desire to let Him control my life instead of me and trusting Him in a deeper way that I had not done so before.
At First Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem, NC, I am currently on the Nominating Committee (nominates elders and deacons, 1 year commitment), have served as a deacon (one term, 3 years), have served on a Conversations Committee (admin type role, about 6 months) regarding potential decisions in the church, as an elementary Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer with pre-school aged children, Youth MOVE group coordinator (admin role), and have twice been a confirmation mentor to a middle school aged girl.
Have served as an adult discussion group leader in Bible Study Fellowship for about 5 years, as a children’s leader for 2 years, and as the children’s supervisor for about 8 to 9 years.
Marrying my husband and how I have learned from him and through our marriage
Parenting 3 boys who are now young adults in their early 20s
Volunteering in a variety of capacities throughout my life
My husband’s health issues. When he was 34 he found out through an insurance physical at work that he had a heart murmur and was in heart failure due to a bad aortic valve. He had heart surgery to get a new valve. HE found out three years later that he has CML, a chronic leukemia and continues with oral chemotherapy for that, and about a year ago his replacement aortic valve wore out and he had to get a second replacement.
After he went to college, one of our son’s had a “new” best friend commit suicide and how that experience has effected him and how his father and I walked alongside him through this.
Months after I married right when we graduated from college, my parents separated, then received counseling and God healed their marriage. (Honoring my parents, I do not share this openly with others unless there is a specific circumstance that the Lord leads me to do so.)
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Sorry to not answer this, but this is really hard for me (#1 and #2 are not).
4. I am not very goal oriented and mainly just try to discern where God is leading me with different work / volunteering, ways to spend my time for Him. .
5. I am always happy / content doing what He has me doing, until He seems to transition me to something else.
