#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It’s what I feel I do best and what God has placed on my life to do for other’s. All throughout my life I have had people believe and encourage me through any and everything so I do my best to do that to everyone I meet.

#2 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have grown up I church and be apart of many ministries in leadership positions. I understand the importance of pastoring/shepherding/serving those under you in christian leadership and I always try to follow the example Jesus set with his disciples in how I encourage, support, teach, guide and influence those under my leadership. I also feel that due to being able to identify people in my own life who have pastored/shepherd/mentored me on my spiritual walk has shown me the importance of doing the same for others where possible, especially those under my care and influence.

#3 Gift, Teaching (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Once again due to opportunities in ministry I have had throughout my life it has gave way for opportunities to share and teach God’s word and his principles. Through the combination of opportunity and God’s spirit in my life I feel I’ve been able to develop as a teacher of his word and understanding of his heart for humanity. Teaching has not always been easy for me as naturally I don’t think of myself as being highly intelligent, well spoken, academically minded, humorous or creative in thinking, all common attributes of people who are effective teaches, but I do understand who i’am in Christ, the power of understanding his truths and how to simply follow him in an open, honest authentic way, which has always encouraged me to teach and communicate as often as I can the things of God.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Encourage/support people. When opportunity comes to encourage and help others in life, and I get to see/hear/be used by God in helping those around me, it brings so much purpose and fulfilment to my life

2. Spending time with my family. Spending quality time with my wife and kids always relaxes me, inspires me, encourages me and invigorates me to be the best me I can be.

3. Playing team sports. I love exercise and being outdoors, couple that with spending time with people, especially people who enjoy sports (not necessarily competitively) as well and I always have fun, no matter what sport I’m playing.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People around my own age or between 10-15 years younger.
I enjoy being able to help people process life and give encouragement to those around me who need it. I’ve done so much ministry over the years with youth and young leaders that naturally I love working with that demographic.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Mens ministry, young adults ministry, prison ministry, overseas missions

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up within a church family and within church, but never had a true understanding of God, Jesus and what Jesus had done for me. In my late teens I explored more worldly things but found myself back in church questioning Gods existence and his plans/purpose for my life. During a worship service I experienced a vision of heaven and truly felt God’s love for me and it was in that moment that I understood and realised God was real, Jesus truly died for me and that to find true life, I needed accept God’s grace and mercy extended to me through Jesus death and resurrection and chose to follow him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Baylife Church, Nelson Bay NSW Australia – Youth leader/Pastor 10 years

Hillsong Church UK, Tonbridge Kent campus – Youth Pastor 5 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marrying my wife

Having my children

Moving to the UK

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Struggles with self control/addiction, in particularly in relation to pornography

Struggles with understanding my purpose and God’s plan for my life

Struggles with comparison and comparing myself to others

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To pastor a church that is real, authentic and passionate about pursuing Jesus and being the bride of Christ the church is called to be

4. To create minsitries that truly not only help the marginalised but tells/shows them the Jesus and his plans for their lives, allowing the actions of the ministry to point people to Jesus

5. To allow Jesus to use me and my life to impact/influence every single person that comes into my life for his glory, that people would see Jesus in me and chose to follow him, not because of who I’am but because of what Christ has done in me.
