My ability to make people laugh. Joy is something we see in God’s grace every day however we as humans have a tendency to get caught up in the seriousness of the rat race of life, which can blind us from God’s grace, mercy, and love. I strive to help my friends and family laugh whenever I can or especially if they are extremely stressed out over a situation as this simple small act reminds us that God’s love is faithful and all around us.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
Short of a long background on how this came to be, however I’ll keep it short. The church I attended althoughout my childhood, my grandfather served as an elder. Myself along with his other grandchildren were receiving a lot of pressure from family as well as other elders of the church as to why us grandchildren had not accepted Christ yet. Initally when I decided to be baptised it was to get everyone off my back. When I approached my grandparents & my parents about getting baptised it sparked a beautiful wonderful conversation full of love and the joy that comes with accepting Jesus. This conversation was so profound that the day I got baptised, two of my cousins and my brother joined me in accepting Chirst that day. It was a beautiful day shared with my family that will forever life on in my heart.
My entire life, from the age of 5, I have been involved in sports. I have had more coaches than I can count but only one that became a mentor & a dear friend. He has always encouraged me to be my authentic self regardless of his views or anyone else’s and I truly believe that he is a huge factor in the leader, role model & friend that I am today. Without his continuous love and support I am not sure I would have become the caring big hearted women I am today.
Sometimes negative situations bloom beautiful epiphanies and place you on the path that God meant for you all along. I had a terrible situation move me back across the country from Florida to my home state of Colorado. Where I met the love of my life in a place I never would have met him if it hadn’t been for several doors being shut that ultimately led me to move back to Colorado.
A quality that was passed down to me from both of my parents is loyalty. They raised me to love deeply & cherish the relationships I form. These qualities help me to form strong bonds with my friends, neighbors and family as I would drop everything & fly to them no matter when or where they needed me.
Something that a lifetime of playing the sport of Softball taught me is that when you fail or something negative affects your life, you have to get regroup, get back up and try it again. Negativity and failure are apart of the human condition, learning that at an early age helped me to deal with negative situations in my life swiftly, however I am human too and my emotions often take over. Being able to reflect on a situation where a friend hurt me or a person I trusted deceived me has been a huge help in not letting depression and thoughts of self doubt sink in even though often times they still do.
Sounds weird to say this out loud, but I have never had my heartbroken by a boyfriend or a man. I have had my heart shattered by a girl. My best friend to be exact. This is a super long story so I will not dive into it here, but I will say that I still deal with pain from her actions to this day, & I most likely always will. Pain & heartbreak are not easy to shake off however knowing now what I wish I knew then & the ability to see how toxic that relationship was for me and my other relationships is all God’s work. He knew she was always going to hold me back & that I would not let her go unless she hurt me beyond repair. This situation although it still may hurt at times was a blessing in disguise. Weird to say that about pain but sometimes its the best tool for learning.
My entire life my goal was to play softball for the USA Olympic team. Softball was removed from the Olympics when I was a teenager which meant the highest level I could ever achieve was to play at a college level, so that became my new goal & I achieved it. This should have been a positive experience…one would think. I was betrayed and deceived by my coach, someone who I had looked up to for years. She belittled me, turned my teammates on me by starting rumors and so many other horrendous things I could write a book about them all. My love for the game was blinding my to all the hate so that I pushed forward it was not until I had an injury that required me to see a doctor and ultimately need surgery was I awaken to the shire nature of the hatred being pointed toward me from her and the rest of the coaching staff. I was refused treatment on many occasions and when they finally agreed to take me to the doctor then told the doctor I was faking my injury to get out of practice.
All of the emotional torment I experience within my time on this team made me realize & value my true worth. It has taken sometime to come to this realization however it has shaped me to know when I am being valued and when I need to walk away from a situation because I know God has bigger plans for me.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Spend time with highschool to college age individuals to help them understand their worth through God’s eyes and given them to necessary skills and knowledge to know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to them to move or switch paths.
4. I would volunteer to help young women who are either less fortunate or not, sometimes as women, especially young women, we struggle to ask for help or guidance. I would love to be involved in a group that helps each other grow spiritually, gain knowledge on interesting topics and essentially a support system to call out to when you need someone to lift you up.
5. I would volunteer within my community at a homeless shelter or women’s shelter to help better my community and myself.
