S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Sam Kinnie for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe people really look up to me and I have really good leadership skills. I really enjoy walking alongside people and journeying with them. I love listening to there stories and helping them through whatever struggles they are in.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I hate when people are sad and I love seeing the good in people. I think I am good at recognizing skills or gifts people have and I love to tell them what I see in them. It is just something that comes easy to me.

#3 Gift, Teaching (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Even just more recently I have really dived into God’s word and I have such a passion for knowing the bible. It is something I truly enjoy doing. And through that, and getting closer to God, I feel I am gaining more understanding and when I speak I think people do listen to me and I say my thoughts and opinions in ways people understand.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love sports. And just competing and trying my best

2. I love when people open up to me or when I have a deep conversation with someone.

3. I love when I read my bible and spend time with God. When I start my days off with this it gives me so much fulfillment

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

High school/older junior high. I like groups of people that have an understanding of faith and I like to go deeper, not just surface level stuff.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I think something we need to do more of in the church is action. I love sermons but the problem I have with them is you talk for 35 minutes and then you’re done. A lot of people go home and forget. Why not shorten the teaching time and leave 10 minutes to practically apply the sermon to your life. You can do this by having paper with questions on it to answer and leave time to answer those questions AT church. That way everyone does it and has now figured out how they are going to apply it to their life. I also believe that as a church we have to challenge each other more. We shouldn’t ever be stagnant in our faith but always growing.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I’ve always been a “christian” but I wouldn’t really say I’ve followed God completely until this summer. I have chosen this summer to be way more bold in my faith and not afraid to share it/stand up for it. I have pursued God whole heartedly by spending time with him and wanting to spend time with him. I have been a leader in my friend group and been open at school. I have said yes to God in all areas of my life and have put him first. I’m not worried about messing up with sin anymore but now just pursuing him and as I grow closer to him the sin gets weeded out of my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Volunteering on various missions trips

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Montreal missions trip. This is when I first heard God’s voice

Camp Chamisall Week 5. This is when I really started pursuing my call to ministry.

Camp Chamisall Week 8. This is where I really started and decided to take action in my faith and started a bible study. I am seeing the gifts God has given me more and more. I also got a picture for someone in prayer and really felt the holy spirit work through me.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I had a pornography addiction for a number of years. It wasn’t until I started pursuing God and stopped worrying about messing up or not being good enough that I started to overcome it. I don’t even think about it anymore but I’m just naturally pulled away from that sin. I can help others deal with that now too.

Not really a negative experience but something I struggle with is I often put my worth in people and that halts me from being bold in my faith sometimes. However, overcoming that and putting my identity in Christ is so freeing and amazing.

I can’t think of anything else negative.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Make sure everyone heard the gospel. Literally everyone. And that they believe it too.

4. I would love to travel and spread God’s word that way.

5. To serve God in EVERYTHING I do no matter what. I would like to never ignore his voice again and if that happened I truly believe it would be amazing the impact I would have
