S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Sandy Gross for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

2. Doing nice things for family and friends.
3. Spending time with family and friends, being a safe place for them.
A range of age from young mothers to ladies 10 years younger than me.
Our staff and their families serve and sacrifice so much for our church family. I would love to be on a team that would focus on these amazing folks.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
Youth ministry of my Baptist church (VBS, youth summer camp, training union and afterglow type youth activities)
Middle School girls SS teacher, Roswell Street Baptist, late 1960’s
Middle School youth SS teacher and youth leader, Trinity Methodist Church, Cartersville, early 1990’s
Mothers of Pre-Schoolers, Trinity Methodist, teacher, craft person and Titus woman, late 1980’s
Christian Businessmen’s Committee summer family camps provided focused Bible teaching and family life training-10 summers in a row resulting in long relationships for our children and ourselves.
A handful of Christian women and one wonderful husband who love the Lord and love me, who are wise in the Lord and life, who have provided safe places for me to share my heart and allowed me the time and space grow in Christ.
One sermon delivered by Nelson Price has hung with me almost my entire life as a Christ follower. “Remember, it is Christ plus nothing.” I can’t tell you how many times those words have given me focus and clarity of thought in all kinds of situations and possible false teaching.
I have a husband who had a career (navy and airlines) where he was gone a lot…and way before email and cell phones. Even though I have never been a single parent, except for the money issues I never had to face, I sure have empathy for tired mothers of preschoolers, tired and lonely mothers/wives in general.
Because I had so much time by myself I learned how important the body of Christ is, how important it is to get involved at church in an area where I am comfortable and develop relationships that will enhance my marriage and encourage me in my walk with Christ.
