This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
From childhood, I have loved to teach. As a business owner my favorite thing to do was to prepare training and deliver it. I have always loved seeing the “lightbulb go on” as I’m talking. Whenever I learn something in the Word, I want to immediately share it with another person so they may learn it as well. I love explaining God’s Word to others who may struggle to understand it. I’m also very comfortable doing this in large groups…unlike most people I don’t have any fear of public speaking and get great enjoyment from it. And most of all I love teaching in a large setting of fellow-believers.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
From childhood, God has shown me the future, mostly in small ways. I am always saying to myself, “I knew that would happen”. As a business owner, I could see what a client was thinking and I knew how to respond to those thoughts. When it came to problem-solving, I would often be frustrated by the things staff would do that brought about the problem, thinking “Well of course that would happen. Couldn’t you see that was exactly what would happen if you did that?” As a Christian, I can see what the likely outcome of my decisions will be. I can see the same for others. I can sense what God is doing in larger terms with His church. When I hear news stories, I can easily connect them with what God is doing in the earth during this time in history.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
From childhood, I have loved organizing things. As an adult, I love creating processes that systematize activities so that the routine matters are all handled the same way, giving everyone the capacity to rightly handle the non-routine matters. I enjoy bookkeeping, database management, sorting things out, bringing order out of chaos, giving structure for a team to follow, communicating in orderly, structured, meaningful ways. I’ve always been good at office management and creating the best environment for administration activities.

I love working with people who are keen to learn and apply what they learn. I prefer working with adults of all types. I love building bridges between people of different races, and have found that I’m easily accepted by African-Americans even though I’m white.

I am excited by ministries that teach the Word in ways that are easy to learn and remember, and who face the issues of the day head-on, explaining how we should respond based on God’s Word. I’m most concerned about the church avoiding the issues of the day and not equipping their members for those spiritual battles and human engagements. I’m also concerned about injustice, both inside and outside the church. I’m troubled by church leaders who do not deal directly with the sin in their leadership, but rather allow it to continue unchallenged.

(Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

[E]xperience

In 1984, my ex-husband became a Christian when we were separated and heading for divorce. Over the course of a few months, I observed he had turned his life around in some significant ways, and he was faithful to God and “sticking with” Christianity. That was answered prayer for me. We subsequently reconciled, and I gave my heart to the Lord after watching Christian TV and learning how to pray the prayer of salvation. I got on my knees in my bedroom, and accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.

Asking for, and receiving, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, then later very clearly seeing a vision in the Spirit where the hand of God wrote my name in the Book of Life.

Marrying an African-American and learning to love that culture, building bridges that are seemingly difficult for others to do.

Becoming a US citizen, living in the US for 30 years, and becoming dear friends with Anita Carman and Ashley Wyman, who both threw me many spiritual lifelines during a long season in the desert.

Being an abused wife, first physically, emotionally, and mentally, then in spite of my husband becoming a Christian the emotional and mental abuse continued. This has given me a heart for women who are in abusive relationships, or anyone who has suffered abuse. I must also mention having had an abortion at 17 and living all my life with the regret and sadness, even after receiving Christ. This has given me a heart to teach others about the pain of abortion, and God’s will for the child, in ways that stop abortion-minded women from taking the step to murder their baby.

Having a church leader steal $200k from me and not receiving any justice from the pastoral team. This has given me a heart for people who have not received earthly justice when it could, and should, have happened.

Choosing to turn my back on God because of a long, seemingly unending, set of deep disappointments. This has given me a heart to teach people how to overcome disappointment with God, handle delayed gratification, adopt God’s desires for their heart, forgive others and themselves, know God’s purpose and walk in it, reconcile with God, and trust God totally and completely in all circumstances.
