S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Sharon Bridges for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
People say I’m a good listener and many are comfortable confiding in me, which makes it easier to know what path to take when ministering to them.

#2 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been a student of The Word for some 20 years. Didn’t grow up in church so have actively pursued it through church, small groups, BSF (where I’ve been and am currently a ladies group leader). I’ve graduated from Pastor Joey’s PTS class, and been to so many conventions, participated in innumerable studies (group/individual) and truly believe the importance of handling God’s Word correctly and with reverence.

#3 Gift, Prophecy (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m not sure I’m gifted in this area. Any prophecy I would share comes directly from Scripture. Maybe I’m not understanding this correctly.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Studying God’s Word

2. Writing

3. Time with family and friends

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Varies depending on what’s being done. Just like to know the folks are dedicated to the task at hand and they enjoy helping out.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’ve volunteered as a pastor’s assistant before and found it interesting. Also led ladies’ small groups and worked in hospitality. One thing I’d like to see at Stonewater is an annual calendar with events plugged in. No need for details, just something showing key events and dates for long range planning. For example, I missed IGNITE due to a trip planned months ago.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

After attending a cult-like church from roughly 7-13, I stopped going. Around 28, I finally accepted a repeated invitation to church (similar style to SWC) and have been going since then. Felt my biblical knowledge was weak so was encouraged to join BSF in 2003 (or so) and was baptized within a few years. Once starting back to church, I believed but didn’t understand everything, and at least at that time, was of the mindset that I needed to understand better before taking the step of being baptized. It was/has been very meaningful to me – something to be taken seriously.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Ladies group leader – Fellowship of the Metroplex (Mansfield, prior to 2007 ??)

Pastor’s assistant – Pastor Craig White, formerly of FOM (above). Started a new church ??? (Arlington, prior to 2007)

Hospitality, event volunteering (C3 conferences) – Fellowship Grapevine (2007-2016)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Cult culture – had it not been for this and the events that happened, I wouldn’t be where I am in my walk.

My solo years were tremendous in helping me figure out who I am, learning how to stand up for myself and realizing that whatever happens, I can go on.

My very first BSF leader, Eleanor was such a bright light and the perfect first leader for me. She was such a bridge builder and so relational and inspirational. Being around her – and visiting/helping with her hospital care when she grew ill and passed. Such grace and dignity. Again, she was the perfect leader to usher me in to what has become a lifelong quest of learning.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My divorce

My father and sister’s passings.

In general, watching people and learning more about personality types and why people do what they do. It definitely helps when you understand you’re really not the target, you’re just in ‘their way’ as they cry or act out in terrible ways.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. 1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Provide funds & lead a group of people in major clean-up and restoration of homes for those who lack resources, talent, knowledge to undertake it for themselves.

4. Write a book

5. Volunteer at multiple places/organizations
