1. Music. It’s my passion and I love that I can use it in a ministry role to bring glory to God.

2. Being active. There’s nothing like doing physical activity (whether working out or just working). It makes me feel more alive.

3. Creating. I love creating things that can move people in some way. In ministry, this is generally to point them toward a deeper relationship with God.

I tend to gravitate toward people my age or slightly younger because they generally have a lot of passion for what they do, but that could apply to any age group. I like those who are positive and excited about making an impact for Christ.

One of the main passions I have is being relevant to those who haven’t grown up in church and don’t know much at all about “churchiness”. It’s refreshing to see people worship God without any worry about what they should or shouldn’t do in church.

I am a full-time Creative Arts Director at a church in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

I have done other work in very secular environments (like large-scale warehouse work). These jobs taught me how to be true to my beliefs and yet approachable to those around me.

I play various instruments and sing, I have an artistic eye, and I have done video work.

I have taught guitar and drum lessons for over 15 years.

My desire to never stop learning, especially when it comes to my walk with God and/or my abilities as a musician.

I accepted Jesus when I was four in the hallway of my childhood home. When I was a teenager that relationship began to take on new meaning and God has become my lifelong friend that I rely on daily.

I attended a teen rally around age 15 and it was then that I decided to dedicate myself to being involved in ministry in some way.

I was involved in broadcast radio in college and that helped me to be more outgoing in general.

I traveled in a Christian band and got to speak about my faith to people of all ages. It was humbling but helped me to be more bold in sharing my story of salvation.

When I was 15, twin sisters in my youth group were tragically killed in a car/train accident. It was my first reminder of how fragile life is at any age, and how we should live each day to the fullest.

I have dealt with anxiety to varying degrees since I was a teenager. This struggle has taught me total reliance on God and has given me even deeper compassion for those struggling with any form of mental illness.

In 2014, my wife and I lost our first son – he was stillborn at 38 and a half weeks. Again, a reminder of life’s fragility but also of our complete need for a loving God in the midst of deep loss. Since that time, my wife and I have both shared with others who have gone through a similar loss, as well as healthcare professionals who assist those going through loss.

Wrapping It Up

3. To be the most effective worship leader I can be, being fully used by God to draw others to a loving relationship with Him.

4. To write, record, and release a worship album or other inspirational recording that would encourage people in their every day struggles.

5. To publish a collection of thoughts aimed at unbelievers that systematically proves the existence of God without using the bible as a reference point. This could be used as a catalyst for conversation about my faith journey and could be used as an evangelical tool for those who would desire to do the same.
