S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Shelby Harvey for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I want people to want to succeed, so if I find myself in a position where I can help encourage them when they are down, I feel very fulfilled.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a strong sense of empathy. I truly believe that God loves ALL people, and I think that the people who need to experience his grace and love the most are oftentimes overlooked by believers.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was always taught growing up to give with a cheerful heart, especially to those with great need. I’ve found that giving to someone without expecting anything in return is truly far more rewarding than receiving.

1. I love to listen. I feel most fulfilled when presented with the opportunity to let someone open up to me, be their confidant, to listen without judgment and offer comfort, advice — whatever is necessary.
2. I love to spend time with family and close friends. Being a part of a community that you would do anything for (and know that they would return the favor) is the best feeling, especially when you are all growing together.
3. I love to serve, especially those who are less fortunate. I have participated in mission trips in the past, and they were all incredible experiences. Giving back to others/the community makes me feel very fulfilled.
I relate best to other young adults, but I get along very well with people who are older than me and enjoy learning from them. I also love kids, but I don’t have the most experience working directly with them.
I am really excited about the focus on small groups/community that BSCC seems to have! Our biggest concern with our previous church was that it was very heavily focused on condemnation and shaming, as opposed to demonstrating God’s grace and showing us how to grow and become better Christians through the Word. Thankfully, that does not seem to be the case here!

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
I was raised in a small, non-denominational church in my hometown. It was very close-knit, and all of my extended family attended as well. I was baptized as a baby, but took confirmation classes when I got older.

Growing up with my little sister, who has Down syndrome. She has taught me so much about patience, unconditional love, and understanding.
Traveling across the country to participate in mission trips with my church as a teen, and meeting so many incredible and inspiring people who helped me grow in my faith.
Living with my college roommate, Carol, an exchange student from Kenya. She helped broaden my horizons and opened my eyes to the world beyond the U.S.
Struggling with self confidence.
My best friend in my early years of high school used me and my family, and it took me a long time to figure it out – and even longer to realize it was a toxic friendship.
Losing loved ones.
