#1 Gift, Evangelism (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Because of my own personal experiences, many of which have been difficult during my long life and that I always kept my faith In my Lord God,I feel I am an example to pass on how the Bible has affected my life and how I have been an overcomer. I have done many years attempting a Diploma of Theology at Presbyterian College now QTC Spring Hill, Brisbane and transferred to Mueller College, Rothwell Qld.(Not completed!) I learned much of the Bible Truths. And still I have much more to learn! I have an enthusiasm to continue ongoing learning in Bible Group Setting which I enjoy. I do like to share with others my faith and my own personal relationship with our Heavenly Father who guides me thro life (especially when I allow Him to!)

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel great compassion and empathy for many in a crisis. I place myself in their shoes to really try to feel what they feel. I am a keen listener, I show care and concern when needed. I am patient, encouraging and forgiving of anyone who wishes to share their life with me or has hurt me.. I am also a very private woman and whatever is said to me in private I will keep private. I have been a confidant of many people (old and young) who have had great sufferings in life. Whether, they are alcoholics, drug dependants, charged for unfair crimes(I have visited prisons in the past)& have helped the mentally ill & disabled. I have a Certs in Mental Health Studies, Youth Work, Disabilities caring, Aged Care, Elderly Caring.I have done Grief &Bereavement Courses and also Suicide Intervention.
I have worked in these areas, paid and as a volunteer. I have a deep understanding of people who suffer. I have had many personal experiences myself. I give words of praise & encouragement easily. Again I keep it quiet.

#3 Gift, Giving (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Giving comes naturally to me. I have given of my time, my love and my money to causes. I donate regularly every year to the church, medical research, chaplains, animal refuges, leprosy cures, I prefer not to talk about this much as I truly believe the right hand does what the left hand need not know about. Also I have given of my time. I have opened my home to a couple of homeless youth in the past and perhaps foolishly given money to others however, it has helped them along their journey. Sometimes giving is a blessing. And maybe, they will learn to do the same to someone else worse off then they are , at some stage of their life.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. To see a person I have helped along the way, transform their ways to improve their lifestyle.

2. To see a smile on the face of an aged person or a sick person who is delighted to see me when I visit them (no matter how tired and weary I am!) Even when I visit the incarcerated in prison & listened to their concerns especially of safety..

3. The times I have visited Israel, Egypt, China and other countries during recent years with Inner Faith Christian Travel Company has given me immense joy to realise that, indeed, Australia, is a great country to live in. We are so fortunate. The best time was in handing out Bibles to Chinese peasants in remote areas of China(2011) who were hungry for the Word. I felt both honoured, joyful, fulfilled and humbled as these people showed their love to us. An unforgettable experience . I thank my Lord often that I was able to do these travels
I know the Lord stands by me even in the times I feel that I have burdens myself. The Lord lifts me up to get me thro. That is joyful!
I enjoy Ballet, musicals and movies to chill me out! And looking at the sea, the trees, blue skies, my garden of flowers all created for my pleasure by our Lord A fulfilment from my Lord

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I am now retired, Have had a few health issues which now cause me to slow up. However, I have still been called to situations from all ages to assist physically or emotionally. I will join others to show friendliness, acceptance and helpfulness to all ages. Where their is a need and I am able to assist, at that time, I will do so

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The “getting to know each other” more is a concern to me. Often many of us are “Sunday” friends and have no or little contact at any other time. We are all swept up in our Activities of Daily Living and this is understandable. Our Church has many activities for all ages to “get together” which many are of interest to me. Church ministries are marvellous reaching out to all environments which excite me and are working successfully. I have had an “idea” for many years which I would like to suggest to the Church which I am sure would be acceptable and I would like to be part of it – I need time, precious time for this and maybe more confidence to make the suggestion.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I have endured much in my life. I have had many medical interventions(operations). I was a victim of violence as a young woman before marriage, I have lost two babies, I am a mother of three adult children, I was married 35 years and was divorced which caused me hurt. My family respect my faith and b elief in our Lord God but have each pulled away living in this New Age World. I was brought up a Christian maintain a strong faith throughout my life even with the many difficulties I have experienced and still do.. I fell away from the church from 19 until my early 30’s but I always believed. Brought up Anglican. Attended Presbyterian from 13 to 19 years of age. Attended Uniting Church after age 30 and later returned to the Presbyterian Church. I developed more interest in the Bible during the 90’s when my marriage was breaking down so I attended Bible College to renew my faith and Biblical Education. My faith has always help me up to be an overcomer even when those times became dark and dismal affecting my own mental, emotional and physical health. I have enduring times within my family and see much self destruction within my loved ones. My faith is strong.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Committee Meetings in Presbyterian Wavell Heights Church years ago,(Brisbane).

Visiting aged in Care Facilities helping with Communion Service – long ago.

I have helped out as a Leader at Childrens’ Camps (two only) for North Brisbane Church Salvation Army many years ago.(Also at Presbyterian Church at Vacation Bib le School in school holidays years ago when my children attended Sunday School & Church. This was all done years ago.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being married for a long time and having three beautiful healthy babies who all did well in school and were popular with lots of friends. We had many visiting our home – I loved all of them.

Being motivated to do Biblical Studies to learn more about our Great God and still learning! Knowing the Lord stands beside me and guides me thro all obstacles and hurdles to be an overcomer.

Having had wonderful experiences travelling – backpacking also! and journeys to other countries – only done since 2008! My meetings with other Christians throughout the World! Realising that out Lord is everywhere.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Lost of babes (Miscarriages) – A story here! A lonely childhood but I was protected. Parted from my mother at a young age (She had divorced a violent alcoholic philandering husband) Three older brothers – one with cancer died, all alcoholics, eldest had heart attack – was the “father” of the family . my favourite brother committed suicide. A husband who lied to me about his true identity but I loved him no matter what.

On verge of nervous breakdown and admitted myself to mental health hospital in 2001 after a horrible Court Appearance in Domestic Violence Court where I was made to feel guilty for being a mother wishing to protect my children from the evils of the world. I was deceived. This is a long story but My Lord gave me renewed my strength and gave me the attribute of forgiveness

The painful medical operations I have endured with painful recoveries. I understand pain and suffering physically and mentally. One operation in mid 9-0’s I was told it could be cancer. The Lord told me otherwise as I was coming out of anaesthetic
