S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Simon Berridge for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

[H]eart
1. Wife and children – these are the primary focus and source of joy. Having no other extended family close it has made our little unit so much more important.
2. Helpings other learn / understand new things. I have significant experience as part of my working life that I enjoy most both facilitating learning sessions and discovery sessions with individuals groups . I also have many years experience of one on one coaching from a development and career perspective.
3. Global / Travel – I work in a very global environment (and have moved 3500 miles to another country) and have the opportunity to travel a lot with work. I find that the experiences and knowledge you gain from other perspectives, cultures and environments is invaluable and enjoy sharing that with others and helping our family gain new experiences like this.
No preference – have enjoyed working with other men at journey as this was a group that was missing in our friendship groups.
Very excited about setting up the new location in Ohio City as it is right next to our children’s school (Menlo Park Academy)

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I was brought up in a Christian household (Church of England / Anglican) but have only recently got more involved in / attended church since the beginning of 2018.
None
Moving to the US has been both a positive and a challenging experience – moving away from family and support systems, joining creating new communities around you. Managing expectations with family/friends back home, etc.
Scouting – I was a scout leader I the UK for many years (and attended all through childhood) and that has taught me many very important skills, given me a positive attitude to serving and supporting others, and given me life long friends.
While note negative in itself, working with our children’s health issues has had a huge impact on our life and shapes the ways that we now interact and operate. It has also allowed us to have a better understanding of different circumstances and situations for others and helping them realize that you can change and adapt to seemingly impossible issues.
