Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marrying my first husband. He taught me what God’s Love was about. He had an immense heart for God & it overflowed to everyone who met him.

Pastor Al Soto, friend, Pastor, boss, mentor. He lives a life that empowers people closer to God for the purpose of releasing them into ministry. He taught me so much, as a children’s Pastor how to deal with the challenges in ministry.

Working in the Christian Publishing & being a Buyer for a large Christian chain store, I met so many big name people from many different denominations. I gained a world view of the church as a whole that was amazing. Hearing about & seeing what God is doing in so many places & types of ministries around the world. I got a glimpse of global ministry.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My first husband going home to be with the Lord too soon. We had been married just short of 25 years. I resigned from pastoring and had to consentrate on being head of the house & raising a son with disabilities all by myself. My heart goes out to kids & parents of kids with disabilities (most are single moms). My heart goes out to widows & single moms.

I’ve experienced abandonment from my mom who is spiritually off. Claims to be God’s prophet (along story). I’ve learned patience, God’s love & forgiveness…

Being married to a man who graduated from Bible College who had very little Christan character or fruit in his life & yet couldn’t understand why no one would let him preach. I never realized how subtle spiritual abuse was until leaving a destructive marriage after 5 years. I’m learning how to forgive people who don’t deserve to be forgiven for the pain & suffering they cause others & refuse to accept responsibility for their behavior. I’m in the process of learning how to live a transformed life of grace & forgiveness. My heart goes out for woman who are suffering in abusive relationships of every kind.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Pastoring hurting woman. Showing them how God can bring healing into their life.

4. Pastoring full-time & being able to support myself & my family.

5. I am loving being back in school & discovering the deep things of God. I have always wanted to work at a college as a woman’s Dean. Maybe I could be a professor & teach Bible to people beginning their ministry journey.
