#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Many of those I have loved and encouraged for the Lord have acknowledged the help I have offered, the prayers said, and I have watched them grow stronger in their faith and dependence on the God who loves them and is always for them.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love Jesus and when the opportunity presents itself, I love sharing how amazing, powerful, and present He is in my life. This is something I love doing to help my grandchildren grow in their faith and also the women I share Bible Study with during the year. It is a joy to watch the transformation God makes in hearts and the wisdom He places in my heart to lift their eyes to Him.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. 1. Study the Bible, listen to Max Lucado books, pray spontaneously for someone and see God’s perfect presence.

2. 2. Spend time with my grandchildren in fun ways, crafts, hiking, letter boxing, baking, celebrating their birthdays and Baptism birthdays and also in sharing faith with them.

3. 3. Being in nature – hiking, gardening, camping, etc.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

my grandkids ages birth to 23, my beautiful women in prison who are all ages, my care receiver in Stephen Ministry who is 50, all my homeless friends who are men and women of all ages, and my faith-filled friends and Bible study women.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am a Eucharistic Minister at my church and that blesses me beyond all words. I also love to worship at Mass, learn from the scriptures and SING my heart out even though I have a horrible voice.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was born and raised Catholic and have always treasured my faith. I have loved growing more mature in my faith through ministry, study and faithfilled friendships.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Spirit of Christ Catholic Community – Arvada, Colorado 34 years and will be there till I go to the Lord.

Mission Arvada serving meals and friendship to the homeless – Arvada, Colorado – 3 years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Watching the Lord open deeply broken hearts of women in prison and know that His love is life giving and life changing. 15 years in Prison Ministry at DWCF

2 years of walking with, praying with and being a Christian Care Giver to my beautiful care receiver in Stephen Ministry and watching her faith and my spiritual counseling strengthen her through her bi-polar issues from many early on suicide attempts to being such a deeply dedicated person to seek God’s strength when her world overwhelms her – especially lately with her mother’s passing during our Covid denial of compassionate personal care.

Watching my husband, a good Christian man, who never had any Bible education, begin to seek to understand more from scripture after Mass’s readings, or my Bible Study excitement sharing

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Walking with and watching my son go through a painful divorce after 22 years of marriage. Praying with him while we are both sobbing and encouraging him with scripture, finding Spiritual Direction and a men’s Bible Group to stay grounded in during his struggles.

Staying deeply in prayer with the Lord when our youngest son left the church and especially became very difficult to be with or share with. Loving him even when hateful statements were spewed and now seeing him free from drink and including me in his life and telling me of his love.

Covid and its harsh tragedies of so many people filled with fear, hopelessness and the inability to be with loved ones and especially for our family who lost my mother-in-law in May and how sterile the celebration of her life had to be. But, I was blessed for 50 years with her kind, generous and faithfilled goodness and so I am still able to KNOW she is with her Lord and King and that grounds us all once more in Christ.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To go on a Missionary Trip and work with children

4. Have a home big enough to bring in some of my sweet homeless friends so they could get a decent place to live.

5. Take my grandchildren on a trip to many different countries including those with much poverty so they might have the chance to see the world with new eyes and develop a deep love for those most vulnerable
