#1 Gift, Serving (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not “shy” but don’t typically thrive by being in the spotlight. While I enjoy being around people, I feel drained if I don’t have enough alone time.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy helping others if I am equipped to provide them with something they can benefit from.

#3 Gift, Giving (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy giving gifts both physical and financial and feel that what I have been blessed with comes from God to be used for his purposes. While I do not make a lot of money, my husband does and he has the same heart for giving that I do.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Take care of my animals

2. Volunteer at an orphanage in Kenya

3. Cook and entertain with friends

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People of all ages from various backgrounds of origin, religion, ethnicity and culture. People who are different from me in all aspects.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

To be honest, I’m not very “churchy” which made some of these questions hard to answer. While I am a born again christian, large groups of christians make me nervous. I realize we are asked by God to worship with fellow believers so it is something I am working on getting more comfortable with but to date I have not become overly involved in a church ministry other than attending a few bible studies and occasional nursery duty. We live overseas in the Middle East and attend a protestant church here which has been nice for meeting people of different cultural backgrounds. I guess I would say that I lean towards ministering by building relationships with those who have not yet found Jesus vs. those who are already believers.

My current vocation:

Other jobs I have experience in:

Mortgage banking, running my own prepared meals business and running the textbook operation (procurement through distribution) of a university bookstore.

Special talents/skills that I have:

I have the ability to take a situation of chaos and turn it into a more streamlined and effective system. I have the ability to connect with most people on some level. I am typically warm and generous and give most people the benefit of the doubt.

I have taught a class or seminar on:

Mortgage banking, how to incorporate a more healthy lifestyle, yoga (not for inward focused spirituality but for exercise and meditation that does not conflict with biblical truths)

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

I’m genuine and generous

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at the age of 4 with the encouragement of my parents. As a young adult, I did not nurture my relationship with Christ or live a Christ like lifestyle however never “turned my back” on God. Over time I found myself more and more at peace personally when I prioritized my relationship with Christ over my own agenda. As a result I desire a closer and closer relationship with Him which in turn, of course, brings personal change. I will be working on this the rest of my life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

River Pointe Church, Richmond, TX – helped in the nursery sporadically for around a year.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Growing up in a Christ – centered home and also having an extended family that are also Christ followers

Moving to the Middle East in 2010

Marrying my second husband in 2006

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Ending my first marriage by having an affair

Struggle with addictive self destructive behavior and also a difficult relationship with my Mother during childhood and young adult years

Not being able to have children which leads to being unsure of what I’m supposed to be doing with myself….hence taking this test.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Being able to utilize the talents / skills God has given me in the way he wants me to. To accomplish something meaningful and contribute something to society for God’s purposes.

4. To stop a cycle of roller coaster ups and downs in my spiritual walk with God and lifestyle and live with a more consistent, always moving forward mentality.

5. To run a lucrative organization of some kind in order to be able to give large sums of money to different areas of need. For example, help build the new orphanage for my friends in Kenya.
