S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Debbie Powell for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Sharing God’s love with others is what I love most. This is the one thing I will go out of my way for no matter how I feel at that moment. Whether it be leaving work when I shouldn’t, use the name Jesus, when it’s not allowed, staying after work even when my family’s expecting me, or driving to someone’s house who is overwhelmed. Yes, I can say that I will do that every time.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
When I think about all the things that I’ve been forgiven for, it’s hard to not do the same for others. Plus people need to see someone who’s not judging them and just loves them. People need to know that whatever they’ve done, it’s gonna be ok with God’s help.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love giving encouragement to others with my words and making them feel safe. That’s what I always need and I try and do that exact thing for others. I love to give in other ways, like money or gifts if that’s what they need. Giving is like God showing up when no one else does.
[H]eart
1. 1. I love to read God’s Word because it gives me all I need to be safe and secure.
2. 2. I love to encourage others so they can have a fulfilling life also. I especially enjoy encouraging people with emotional issues.
3. 3. I love to help build up strong kids so they’re successful adults.
I love to work with women of all ages. I also like to work with people who have been hurt or have hurt others…. people who are humble about where they’ve been. I really love offering them God’s love and peace. I want them to experience the excitement that comes from a relationship with God.
I would love to be around church people all day long if I could somehow get paid to do it. I only say that because my husband doesn’t have a paying job right now.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
After a horrendous lifestyle of alcohol and bad decisions, I was supernaturally pushed from behind towards a Christian guy who later lead me to the Lord. I didn’t really understand what that meant so I continued living a less horrendous lifestyle with some thoughts about God, but still not following the Lord fully. After I married my husband under the influence of alcohol, I prayed for true love and 25 years later, we’re still married. Because God gave me that gift of love for my husband as well as many other signs of His love for me, I began following the Lord wholeheartedly. I’ve been a faithful follower of Christ for 25 years and will never do anything different.
EPIC Christian Church in San Tan Valley – Children’s ministry with my husband.
Mountain View Church – San Tan Valley – Special Needs Ministry
Mountain View Church – San Tan Valley – High School Ministry
Going from working at a speech therapist in a clinical setting to the school setting was huge for me because the school setting was always intimidating. I always hated speaking in front of groups (meetings) and talking to people (teachers) who I perceived as smarter than I was and those are the two things I do everyday. I felt that’s where I needed to be to grow as a person, although the thought of it was horrifying. Also being in the schools, I’m learning how distracted I am when it comes to doing my Lord’s work. God wants me to do His work and this job has helped me in many ways, but mostly in learning that I need to be more purposeful with my life and not just get by.
Getting my Master’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences has impacted me because it was God, I know, who got me into this program for His purposes. This program was challenging to get into, BUT GOD said, “aaa, no problem” and got me in. I was never really good at this kind of stuff and struggled in school, but God lead me here so that I could work with children who needed love, which led me to the schools to get stronger, which lead me to the Special Needs Ministry at Mountain View, which lead me to the High School Youth Ministry, which is right where I need to be.
I have a great relationship with my husband’s ex-wife, Sheyna. Our relationship has been developing for 25 years and her examples of love and kindness have always encouraged me in my walk with the Lord.
My 25 year old step-son Cory’s passing away in 10/31/2013 from cancer. God has used this terrible thing to help others in sooooo many ways. His mom road her bike across the country as Cory did before he passed and not only has she raised thousands of $$ for cancer and awareness, her stories during this trip have propelled me in life no other.
Marriage Miracles
My husband is a recovering alcoholic. Living with an alcoholic is the worst experience of my life and brought out the ugliest Debbie Monster there was. Yes, how can such a nice person be such an incredibly nasty and hateful person to another human being? I don’t know, but God knows our limits and pursues His plan through these tough times. He heard my cry and came running!! It tough me how to be strong and have boundaries. I’m grateful for this experience because I can support other women in this area; I have what they need. Romans 8:28
