[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I like going to Shepherd’s Way, even though I have only been twice. I moved here from Roanoke, where I volunteered at a youth ministry (Straight Street) for inner city kids. That ministry was also getting ready to open a shelter for sex trafficking victims. Sadly, since moving here I have yet to find my “niche”. I have not gotten plugged into a “ministry”.

2. I also went to help with MoHope once. It was amazing.

3. I also love babies. When I first moved here, I worked at a daycare center. Now that I am not working there, I need to start volunteering to help in the nursery. Just haven’t yet šŸ™

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Babies. I actually liked the youth where I was, but really do not know many of them here. And I like senior adults.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I love the music ministry. I cannot carry a tune in a bucket, nor do I play. But I sure love to hear it!!!!

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

No Damascus Road experience here. Was not raised in church, but always felt that Jesus was near. Attended Camp Alkulana when I was much younger and realized just how awesome God is. I did not always follow Him, but am trying to be more like Him every day.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Taught several different Sunday School classes at Boones Mill Baptist.

Served as a volunteer in a youth ministry for inner city youth at Straight Street of Roanoke Valley. Was very interested in helping with the sex trafficking victims with Street Ransom, but moved away before that got off the ground.

Did setup/takedown when Journey Church held services in a local theater in Roanoke, VA. Served in the nursery caring for infants there, as well. Led a singles ministry Andy Griffith Bible study. Also served food at the Roanoke Rescue Mission with my church, which was incredible.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Gracie Kirkpatrick from Camp Alkulana was an amazing camp counselor.

God always put the right people in my life for what I needed at that time. He still does. I have several friends that are my accountability partners.

Think I am sounding redundant here, but am very thankful for Christian music radio.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Grandfather’s suicide. šŸ™

Alcoholic parents ( but I always knew I was loved).

Have lost several key people in my life – mom, dad, and husband. Hard stuff. But as I said before, God always put key people in my life to help me.
