Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was brought up in the Catholic Church. My entire life was centered on works. I fasted, went to church, went to confession, taught Sunday School, worked all summer at Church Camp. Went to seminary on the side to learn the laws and rules. But the works and law were my stumbling blocks. In my twenties I felt empty, outside Gods kingdom. I ask priest after priest of how I would know if I would go to heaven and serve on the side of the Master. Then I met a charismatic Pastor and when I asked how I anyone could go truly know if they were saved. And he laughed at me, the laugh only a truly caring wise teacher could laugh. He showed me the texts and after all those years centered on works and my acts, I missed it! John 3:16 was so simple so clear. I fell to my knees one night and cried out to the lord to save this wretched man. My world was never the same fear and death lost all hold on me. And his path laid clear.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Before military and Police I worked at Church Summer Camps running multiple programs: Buffalo Baptist, Redhouse/ NY, head counselor, 1997-2001

Youth and Men’s Archery, and Shooting Outreach, Richmond Baptist, Staten Island, NY. Ambassador, 2013-2016

Decon and Religious Ed Instructor. St. Bonaventure, Buffalo/ NY 1996-2000

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Married to my Wife (17+ years) with 5 kids. It centers, grounds and humbled me to this day.

Military serving in the worst war zones and most dangerous places on Earth. My team almost to the man came to Christ while under my command. Many spoke the words, few walked the path even when faced with death and despair. God truly has parted the sea before me.

My career and warriors path. Time and time again I’m sent where brave men fear to tread, and receive leadership positions during the most trying times. These trials have shown me I am like the Centurians in the Bible, men who had to be brave warriors but the first gentiles who saw the truth and knelt before the true master.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I watched my younger brother choke to death in front of me on an apple Core I left on the table. I was seven, my parents couldn’t handle their grief my mother attempted suicide and my father became unable to function. Both were confined to psychiatric wards and it was years before they could regain custody of their children. Such trauma at a young age forged me into the man God needed. That trauma made me love life and fear not death. Seeing how giving into Despair and lack of faith will destroy you. It’s deadlier then any bullet, blade or poison.

Relying on works and the laws does not make for a strong faith in God. This path almost lead to my destruction, I almost missed the entire purpose of salvation because, like the Pharisees of old, my life centered on following religious laws and performing acts then on a meaningful relationship with God.

When I was in the Army my mentor, friend, and superior officer ordered me to get rid of a soldier under my command because he didn’t believe women belonged in “his army”. When I refused he had her violently attacked, and then tried covering it up. When I exposed the entire thing to higher ups and investigators he tried silencing me. When that failed he had me attacked and intimidated, when that failed he tried everything in his power to have me killed. Among 100s of brave soldiers I stood alone. But my master was stronger then any earthly force. Others came to God because how can a man stand up against such a thing. God also showed me that he had made me, and forged me to stand against all trials. If no matter the trial I will stand in the way of evil, even pain of death will not weaken the resolve HE has so blessed me with.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Backwoods retreats with men’s group. Nothing like a remote lake or mountain side to truly fellowship and grow with God.

4. Travel to distant lands to relate my stories and encourage others on their path.

5. Work in the church to strengthen the Pastor’s vision to be his right hand man his executor to help him succeed in his vision.
