[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Helping others- putting their needs far above mine.

2. Caring and loving on children. They can grow up and change the world if we teach them correctly!

3. Putting nice back into the community- one smile or conversation at a time.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Early teens to young adults.. we can be the change they need if only we influence them at this age. This is where peer pressure is the hardest. If we can teach them to think for themselves and feel their own emotions on a situation then they can grow to be strong/independent Christians.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am excited for the newcomers- wanting to make that first impression a welcoming one. I am excited for the children- teaching them to be a leader and not a follower.

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I knew at a very young age that kindness outweighed the bad. As young as 6, I can remember always putting others before myself. I heard about Christ at around 13 years old and knew my life had to be symbolic of his. I wanted to live as a Saint. I failed at this because I thought my good works shined brighter than asking for forgiveness and following the will of God. It wasn’t until 2015 that I realized He had all control, I had none, and my life was complete chaos without Him. I was given hope. And now I take the weight of this world off my shoulders and let Christ carry it- because I don’t have to do this alone.
Now I am seeking his will, finding my place, and trying to use my gifts to the best of my ability.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Children’s Church, The Dock, The Landing, Celebration Place, CR, greeter ministry, and wherever else I am needed.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Having our house catch fire, feeling hopeless, and having to fall on my face to cry out to Christ for a place to live. My prayers were answered just a few hours later. We were homeless less than 24 hours because I asked to been shown that Christ was real.

Getting pregnant. Being a mother was all I wanted out of life. The children gave me a reason to be better because I knew they’d be watching how I lived my life.

Being offered a job at DG 7 years ago. It gives me the chance to connect to people in my community. I learn about their habits, families, and situations. I’ve prayed for people, cried with people, and laughed with people all because I use each day as if I’m working for the Lord and not for the Man.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Learning that my real dad had left before I was even born. He was too busy with his own life to worry about raising a child. I met him when I was 17 and we’ve began a relationship together.

The passing of the man who raised me. This hurt me to my core! I went through a stage of depression- not caring for myself or how my actions could alter my life. I used, drank, and isolated myself from people.

My mother had multiple men in her life. This showed me the wrong way to love and that I needed another person to depend on.. I decided to break the cycle, be independent in life, and be mindful of who I let hold my heart. You don’t move from person to person, be it friends or spouses, because your troubles will follow into the next relationship.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would be over a half-way house for new believers that are struggling. This would offer assistance with employment, be a safe place for those running from their addictions, and be a christ centered program with curfews, classes, and counselings.

4. I would go on a mission trip to a place that most would never go and where I could make the most difference.

5. I would want to house the poverty stricken families in my community. Loving on the children, offering hope instead of dope to the parents, and dealing with the burnt bridges of the extended members.
