S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Stephen Good for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Everyone goes through times of hardship and success. It is a benefit to the people of the body of Christ because we all need encouragement at times. It’s what helps us grow spiritually and toward unity in the body of Christ.

#2 Gift, Teaching (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
There is a great need for the people of God to be taught what it means to use our gifts for the Kingdom of God and to disciple those who are young in their faith or who are not yet saved. This process is key for believers to grow and help disciple others.

#3 Gift, Serving (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is one of the more important gifts in my opinion. I enjoy offering a hand to people who are in need of something. I see that they are struggling or need a hand and I enjoy giving them whatever I can in order to serve them. Whether that be a congregation or an individual, we are called to serve.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Giving to someone who does not expect a gift. It is so exciting to see them shocked and thankful for any sort of gift they receive.

2. I enjoy encouraging those who need help or are struggling. I like to keep people accountable.

3. I love to ask people what makes them fulfilled or the plans they have for their lives.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People younger than I, or people my own age.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Christians not growing spiritually, obeying the scriptures, serving each other and those in need, witnessing to unbelievers, and keeping fellowship with other believers.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Christian home but needed to make my faith my own. Met a Navigator and became mentored in the Navigator ministry.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Highland Park Community Church

Navigators

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My mentor taking me under his wing and encouraging my spiritual growth.

Going to a Navigator training to learn how to study the Bible more intently.

My best friend, who is a mormon, his family took me as one of their own and demonstrated what it is like to be a family.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My parents were never together, I would visit my dad on weekends. Growing up with my mother has given me a perspective of how a house hold is meant to be made of both parents, not just one.

I grew up in a church that never referenced scripture and only had interests in using people. This changed my perspective of the church in a very negative way.

I was on a worship team who’s interests were only to make albums and sell their music. They never really cared about the individuals in their team. It changed how I viewed worship and affected my own musicianship.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would meet with believers and non-believers regularly to encourage and challenge them to obey God’s commands of love

4. I would be a professional musician and play consistently on the worship and wherever I could.

5. I would record my music and others music who want to share what matters most to them.
