S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Tami Parks for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Administration (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe that loving leadership is so important in the church. “Leader” is a title that is not given, but is earned. Ministries and churches should be administrated well, with people put first.

#2 Gift, Giving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Nothing I have belongs to me. Sometimes God let’s me hold some of his resources, and it’s very fun to find someone to bless with it.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I actually think teaching is more of my gift than evangelism, but I enjoy theological discussions, whether it means introducing someone to Jesus, explaining a verse to a fellow believer, or having a “speak the truth in love” moment with someone that interprets a passage differently than I do.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Sing, play music and lead worship. I love to praise God in song.

2. Learn new things through reading, art, podcasts, and other forms of media.

3. Be creative.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Young Adults (18-30) I enjoy helping teach them principles in areas such as finance, marriage, and child-rearing that helped Jeff and I during those years. I also enjoy serving with young adults because they have skills and energy – and probably because my own boys are those ages and I enjoy watching them leave the nests.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am passionate about skilled music in worship and finding a mix of classic and new worship songs that a congregation can sing with joy and ease.

The complimentarian/egalitarian debate is very interesting to me at this time. I am excited to learn and see how women are beginning to be more involved in church leadership and ministries other than the nursery and office work. Women need to have a seat at the table and a voice in our churches, even the conservative denominations.
