I feel that all I have is a gift from God and I cannot take any of it with me. I would rather share what I have with others than to keep it all to myself.

I am happiest when I know that what I am doing is relieving the load off of someone else. Again, my time is not my own- it is a gift- and I want to use my time helping others.

I am surprised that I did not score higher here. I have strong organizational abilities and enjoy being a project manager. However, I do have a little problem with delegation-I tend to do things myself instead of “bothering” others.

1. 1. Spending time with my family.

2. 2. Physically organizing something- anything! Closets, file cabinets, attics… I love bringing chaos back to order and seeing a completed project.

3. 3. Cleaning. I know it’s weird. When I have free time at home (or at work) I am usually involved in a spring cleaning-style project. I just don’t have enough free time!

I can work with anyone. I see the value in all age groups and enjoy working with whatever age the project is involving.

Worker recruitment and retention. I love the excited volunteerism that I see right now. I would love to see that continue. It is very frustrating to see the few burn themselves out because everyone won’t help out just a little.

[E]xperience

Growing up it seems that everyone in my immediate and extended family was either a minister or a church leader. Being a PK I was expected to always be good, so I was most of the time. I said the sinner’s prayer many times as a child/teen , mostly because I was afraid of the alternative to being saved. I was terrified of Hell and of disappointing my Christian family. But it wasn’t until after I was married and experienced the freedom of being out on my own and making my own decisions did I really have a true conversion experience. I wasn’t happy with myself and the decisions I was making. After a lifetime of growing up in the church, I knew all the right things to say and do, but I didn’t have a true relationship with God. I rededicated my life to Christ alone in my home after I realized that, by myself, I was making a mess of my life and I needed Jesus to become the true Center of my life.

My parents were tremendous hard-working laborers for Christ. Watching them minister helped me to understand the concept of building up treasures in Heaven and that God will supply your needs according to His riches in Heaven. He always provides.

Marrying Rodney. By nature I am a shy, reserved introvert, but Rodney has helped me to build up me self-confidence and become more bold.

Becoming a mother. My kids have taught me how to love unconditionally, how to give selflessly, and have shown me how to live in the moment- to enjoy life now instead of always looking to the future.

We did not have a lot of money growing up. I understand what it means to be in a lower income bracket and the struggles to make ends meet, so when I can now help someone else, I will.

I have seen how well-meaning “church people” can hurt others with their careless comments. This makes me want to be especially careful about guarding my tongue.
