S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Kyra for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Serving (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy giving my time and energy to others, especially when they’re in need of help. Honestly, I also like the affirmation I receive from the leaders or friends who I can help in small ways, knowing that my efforts are not in vain. Even when my efforts aren’t recognised, I’m glad that I was able to help someone through their huge event/responsibility. I enjoy being the back-up support but as of now, I’m scared to take the lead and afraid to actually plan and organise events because of a lack of experience and all that. That’s why I like to just help out.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I know that my saviour has been merciful to me, and I’ve been shown a lot of forgiveness, grace and mercy throughout my life. I believe strongly that everyone has the will and ability to change for the better, and I’m willing to nuture that will into actually helping them to improve, and not remain stuck in their position of “I’m just bad” etc. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, unless they obviously have ill-intentions and are always insincere.

#3 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’ve always loved to give to other people, because it made me feel that I could be of help to them, or could somehow make their days a little better. I’ve been blessed with much, and honestly long to give to those who have less than me.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to do well in my studies, and work hard in school because I feel fulfilled by the academic growth and the new knowledge and insight and improvements I achieve in school.

2. I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE
Whether it’s in school, at home, in church, I like being someone who can help out and is available to help around.

3. I like to make my friends and family laugh, and make others feel more comfortable where they are, whether it’s by being a good friend to them or just including them in a conversation. Sometimes it’s awkward, but I love being there for them and making them feel welcomed.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with younger children and older adults.
The former: for their innocence, their frankness, their teachability.
The latter: for their stability and wisdom, and their leadership with experience.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

My generation of youth concern me because they’re so unstable and confused, and easily won over by material things. I’m afraid that those who call themselves christians will backslide.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My parents are christians and brought me to church since I was born. I only really started to understand and appreciate what God did for me ad started to walk closer with him when I was P6. I was touched by what my mother shared in the car and touched by the messages in church, and longed to understand his word better, and know God better.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

WEB SST for 4 years, CEFC, Singapore

Lower primary youth DMK, CEFC, Singapore

Youth design team, CEFC, Singapore

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Going for one80 2018 taught me that God was a personal, amazing God who I longed to know more about. He was the one who gives me every breath.

Growing closer to good friends and my family to know God better and experience the warmth of a church community makes me feel more accepted and loved, and motivated to do God’s work so more people may come to know him and even experience the same things that I get to experience with this community in church.

Being a jiejie in Saturday CG and to Zoe and to Kay and Jen and even a friend and DMK to the LP kids taught me patience and taught me that everyone is unique, everyone is loved, and God wants these young people to grow into his kingdom, to love him the same way I love him.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being left out from a friend group who I was with taught me not to depend on friends but on God and taught me that God loves me and sends people into my life, and mentors who bring me through the toughest times. It also taught me not to only look at my situation in front of me but to look up to God.

Not doing well when leading worship taught me dependence on God.

Not being able to lead confidently by myself, dealing with awkwardness, taught me that I have so so much more to learn, and that to lead others, I must first focus on and depend on God.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Connecting with families who are broken, with abusive or divorced parents. I want to bring christ to them.

4. Making sure all the poor elderly in Singapore had food to eat.

5. Making sure that the troubled and depressed youth in Singapore had a place to feel belonged in, and a person they could always go to: God.
