S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Toni Feenstra for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have enjoyed working on mission trips previously and spending time with the homeless, children in foster homes and the poor and lonely. I have seen it as a goal of mine for years to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and learn to serve others joyfully and I truly enjoy helping where I can when I can.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
If I can help someone in some small way by giving of my time, energy, finances, or other items I have I desire to. Everything I have is His, not mine, and it can all be gone in a second. I’ve been very blessed to have what I have and want to share these blessings with others if I can.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I was somewhat surprised to see this one come up but also not surprised. As stated above I have had the opportunity to go on some mission trips and really enjoyed going out and meeting people where they are. I know I would enjoy going to hospitals or foster homes or shelters and giving of my time and attention, especially if I can share God’s love.
[H]eart
1. I love to spend time outdoors seeing the beauty of all that God has made. I enjoy being active hiking, kayaking, running, camping etc. and enjoy sharing my favorite places and activities with others.
2. I enjoy animals of all shapes and sizes- especially dogs. I’m not sure if this applies to the SHAPE profile or what this is for but what can I say- they truly bring enjoyment to my life.
3. The last I would have to say is just spending time with others who love God and accept me for who I am. The time I spend at Church and with others in the congregation brings me more joy than most activities I could be doing outside of Church.
This one is a hard one as there really isn’t too specific of an age group I love to work with the most. Some of my favorite memories where I grew the most spiritually was when I was in high school so I think high school age kids mean a lot to me as they grow up and are being pulled in a lot of different directions. I enjoy working with the homeless, those in need, those who desire someone to talk to and be there for them and support them as they grow or get back on their feet. I also love to be in the background and help “performers” as I feel that I’m good at supporting the strong leaders in my life.
I’m not sure how I’d feel in the jail/prison setting working in a LEO role but that may be an opportunity I need to work on. I’m always excited about helping with events actively or administratively.
Homelessness
Poverty/hunger
Abuse/violence
[A]bilities
I’m currently a Customs & Border Protection Federal Officer.
I’ve worked in loss prevention, been everything from an usher to a projectionist to a manager at a movie theater, lots of office jobs and retail.
I can type well and accurately, I can do most things someone in an office can/would do, I’d have to think more on this one….
LEO stuff for work. I can teach and people say I’m good at it but I don’t really enjoy it.
My ability to be somewhere, on time, when needed, ready to work, even if it’s last minute.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
[E]xperience
I was raised in a Christian home by 2 loving parents with 1 older sister. I pretty much grew up in the church. I went to a Christian school until the 4th grade at which time we couldn’t continue due to cost so I went to public from then on. I grew up in 2 churches, the first being more reserved (reformed) and the second was where I really grew in a discipleship group in high school. There wasn’t a lot for college-aged kids after that at the church so I kind of took my own path which ended up leading to some bad choices. I felt God poking at me over the past few years to get my act together and get back on the right path so I’ve spent a lot of time shutting down bad friendships and literally moving away from some of the junk in my life. I’ve worked hard to dig back into my devotions and finally found what I believe is the right Church for me so now I need to get back into a group so I can continue growing spiritually with help from other believers.
Grace Ann Arbor Church in Ann Arbor, MI which I had just started to get involved and received a good position in VA so ended up leaving (2013).
Remembrance Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, MI (1998-2001); I worked as an office assistant for a few months.
Zion Reformed Church in Grandville, MI (birth-1998).
Participation in the discipleship group (D-Group) at Remembrance Reformed Church probably had the biggest impact on my life. I’m not sure if I would heard God’s voice to come back to him had I not learned to hear his voice so well during this time.
The Mission Trips to Acuna, Mexico and Toronto, Ontario Canada working with homeless, orphan children and LGBTQ community and building a church and conducting a VBS had a big impact on me.
I think just being raised in my family the way I was raised made me who I am today. My family is my #1 support group and they are always there for me and direct me according to scripture and pray for me.
I’ve taken some paths in the past that I’m not proud of that honestly I don’t want to type on here that have made me see decisions and situations differently. I think growing up in that Christian bubble, if you will, made me kind of judgey towards others and didn’t really understand why someone would do what they do but I’ve been there and understand and I learned a lot about Grace in the process.
I’ve had trouble in High school and Junior high with making the right decisions and the various stressors and changes that occur that seem so bad at the time and learned over time that I can use these experiences to help others going through what I went through. It’s made me more caring, compassionate and understanding.
My job recently brought me out of the country and the position and location did not go very well for me. I stuck with it and did my best but along the way it helped me to realize what was really important to me. It changed my outlook on my career and helped me to realize the importance of happiness, joy, love, and not money or climbing the ladder.
