S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Tosha Leighton for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Because I know how bad things can get and how it takes a toll on us and I want people to remember that it can get better through Christ and the choices we make.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Because I feel very strongly and confident in my story of my relationship with God. That no matter what has gone wrong in my life I know He has always been there for me. And when life is good I know it’s because of Him.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
In my relationships with people I have always been good at putting myself in their shoes and doing my best to understand what they’re going through no matter what kind of person they are. And this ties in with the exhortation/encouragement because I have been good at helping them find a way forward. And if I have no clue where to start or don’t understand the situation I try to find different ways or other people that can possibly help. I don’t like giving up because I don’t want them to feel alone or that it’s not possible to progress.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Teaching my children. It’s an amazing feeling when you see them apply what you teach them. Whether they realize they did it or not.

2.

3.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People that need the help the most. I love seeing the progression and happiness in someone no matter the age when you couldn’t see any happiness before.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Exciting and concerning with church groups. It’s exciting to see people acting on wanting fellowship and better lives in Christ by going to groups and taking action in similar ways. But also concerning because of how big of a church we go to and in comparison a VERY small percentage acts wants and needs they have that the church can provide. Even though I understand exactly that position because without God I didn’t have the courage to act either.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I don’t have any memories of ever questioning if God was real or not. In my childhood the most I learned about God was my earliest memories until I was about 7. I had a very challenging childhood and not great parents but God always made sure I knew he was there for me. I began pursuing an actual relationship with Him around 19 and was baptized I believe when I was 20. I gave up on Him when I started a demanding job at 22. Then my life completely changed about 2.5 years ago. I moved, got married, no longer worked, became a stepmom, then mom. I slowly got depressed because of all of the changes and didn’t realize how bad it was until recently. I finally gave up on my guilt and began looking to God for a relationship again and answers. Now here I am figuring that out.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Not being much, but learning & understanding enough about God at an early age.

Learning self reliance at a young age. Which was positive and negative, but is a huge impact on who I am.

Learning that getting what you want can mean working hard for it.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Really, my entire childhood was mostly negative. I look at it as a whole experience that answers this vs all the things that happened.
