#2 Gift, Evangelism (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love to talk about God’s work in my life and how he is there for others. I enjoy being in a room of people who are crying out for God’s love and just need to be told about him. I have truly enjoyed that aspect of my teaching at Indian Hills.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I try to be very encouraging to everyone. Everyone just wants to feel loved and wanted. I think this one goes hand in hand with my gift of administration because you can not be an effective leader if you are not encourage those around you to rise up and be a part of God’s team. Every person has a place and a purpose in the church and we need to be better at encouraging them to do that no matter how long they have been attending.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in the church, but pretty much had walked away in college. I was brought back to the church after my divorce when my friend invited me to join a church volleyball league. To be able to play I had to agree to attend church at least twice a month. I then began attending the Bridge Church and truly found Christ in my life. I began to make small changes and even some big changes to become more of the person God called me to be. I continue to strive to be more and more like him each day.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I helped organize and run the laboratory in the Ezra Free Clinic ran by the Bridge Church in Ottumwa.
At Gateway I have been Children’s Church Director, Quizzing Director, 4th and 5th Grade Caravan instructor, 2nd and 3rd grade SS teacher, help organize and lead marriage ministry events, organize and help lead Upward as well as coach, ref and score keep, helper in youth, middle school life group leader, help organize and lead Family Fest, helped organize and teach in VBS’s, help organize date nights. I think there is more, but I can’t remember. 🙂

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting and marrying John Anderson

Having God bless me with 4 beautiful kids

Becoming so involved with the church and being able to share God’s love with so many and help plug people in where they feel God’s love and rewards.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Getting a divorce

my past addiction to cigarettes

becoming pregnant out of marriage and a real healthy relationship
