Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a family that only went to church on Easter and Christmas. After my brother became a believer he planted seeds that came to fruition when Tim and I worked at Shetek Baptist Camp when Logan was a baby. I knew it was something that was missing in my life/heart.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Camp Nurse at Shetek Baptist Camp 3-4 years?

Taught Sunday School for many years at Skandia E Free Church, maybe 8 years
Worship team for a number of years

Lake Sarah Baptist Church worship team for a number of years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The people that God had put in my path the first years of teaching were believers, family oriented, easy to work with

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My dad was an alcoholic. There were many frightening times as well as stressful family dynamics to deal with. He died when I was 26. It was hard because at that time he was sober and I looked forward to many years of building a relationship with him and watching him be a grandpa.

Living with Eden’s learning disabilities, ADHD, ostracization and then later her diagnosed personality disorder and unhealthy choices was incredibly traumatic for us. I didn’t know how to help her. My guilt, grief, anxiety, depression really affected me.

When my mom got to the point she needed to move closer to us, I looked forward to building a better relationship with her. We had never been close. There was no communication between my parents or with them as parents. She was in and out of Hospice for 2 years, Logan was angry with us and absent in our lives, and Eden was struggling with everthing, and I wasn’t mentally capable with dealing with any of it.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Restore family relationships

4. Overcome anxiety & depression, be happy again

5. Become more organized like I want to be, but have a hard time getting there
