[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Raising children to be servants of the Lord.

2. I like to develop younger employees at work and take subtle opportunities to share my beliefs with them as they are shaping their lives.

3. I enjoy working together with my wife on projects/initiatives that serve the Lord.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

My wife and I had children younger in life so we are in our early 50s and our kids are grown and on their own for several years. What we have found is that many people in our age group are in earlier stages of raising children… Ironically, we noticed that when we were wondering if in the right group, we realized that we were able to contribute our life experiences to help those going through those phases.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am a utility infielder when it comes to serving.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Grew up Catholic. Married into Preysbyterian church. Started to explore non-denomination church when children were in pre-school. Found personal relationship with Jesus at Chapel Rock Church in Indianapolis and was baptized there. There is also a time when my son was very sick that was an a powerful catalyst in getting engaged in church…

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Chapel Rock Christian Church – Indianapolis IN – 4 yrs

Legacy Christian Church – was mostly a consumer rather than giver… was part of small group where we were able to give to those needing help/advise.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Very loving Christ following family. Examples of compasion and service by grandparents and parents.

Exploring Christ outside the Catholic church was awesome.

Impactful experience when son was very ill was a major catalyst to get us more connected with a church.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Having to deal with significant and non-curable medical issues of wife.

Having to be extremely involved in corporate life, much travel and time commitment to work, and having to juggle Church/Home/Work/Family.

Having to deal with and watch my wife deal with her mother who recently died of cancer. Also dealing with the same issues with my father who has major mental and physical issues associated with a bad outcome of heart surgery May 2018.
