S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Toni M. Stovall for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Administration (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m a business person at heart and an analyst by trade. I like order and organization, so doing these along those lines is not only natural for me, but is interesting.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have a very soft spot for the underserved, homeless, disabled, and elderly. I’ve worked in prisons and people in the penal system (as well as family members) and can relate to them. In my lifetime, I’ve also experienced a lot of pain, social injustice, and misfortune to have empathy, mercy, and grace for others.

#3 Gift, Serving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
To those I show mercy, I like to serve because it could be me, and in some cases…it was me. Serving is one thing that requires only your effort and gives you back so much more.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was about 20 years old when I got saved, and this was because my life was all over the place and I needed to get real with God and be all-in.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

International Ministry (Coordinator/Admin) at The Peoples Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring from 2014-2016

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My old church, Rose Hill Baptist, in Kannapolis, NC

Relocating from the Midwest to NC in 2001 and all the events that transpired through that

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Undergrad experiences (working FT and PT to support me, getting evicted, having no electricity, sleeping in my car, getting fired from a job, filing bankruptcy, etc.)

Miscarrying two (2) babies within the past 2 years

Having to short sale on my house in NC when my job relocated me to MD in 2009

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Work independently where my occupation align with the purpose God set out for me (to help the disabled and elderly)

4. Travel (to understand people/cultures/life better and do social-good missionary work with on the road)

5. Help minorities start and grow their businesses
